Actually he’s out of state in grad school but about to graduate in May!

In reality I will probably end up doing is trying to convince a few friends to join me into going to the IMAX showing. They are notorious cheapskates tho, so that’s easier said than done.

Made a spoiler thread here:

I just finished watching Phase 2 in preparation for Infinity War. Again, all of them are pretty good, but Winter Soldier and Guardians really stand out. I like Age of Ultron a little more each time I see it. The biggest surprise is how much I liked Ant-Man. I've probably seen it the least out of all the Marvel movies. It was so much better than I remember.

On to Phase 3 in the march toward Infinity War!

Yeah, phase 2 was really average. With Winter Soldier and Guardians being as you said only two films that stood out. Phase 3 has been stellar so far. Not a single beat missed and each installment gets better and better.

Yeah phase 2 was pretty weak lmao I always tell the DCU guys Thor2/ Iron Man 3 are still capable of putting me to sleep the way the extended cut of BvSJ is lol

Yeah Phase Three is better so far. However, the CGI/SFX need improvement.

Yeah I was kinda surprised its not really advanced over the years. The CGI isn't much better than the films in 2010-2013.

I think it's because Marvel are rushing these movies out. Which I totally understand why because they already have dates set up for Infinity War and Avengers 4, so they can't afford any delays. Imagine if Civil War and Black Panther came out after Infinity War. It would f*** up the flow. One of the few problems of having a cinematic universe.

I don't think it's rushing. Marvel changed around a few release dates once it was announced they were making Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Thor: Ragnarok was pushed from it's July release (which was given to Spider-Man) to November (which was originally Black Panther's release date) and Black Panther was moved into February. Those delays gave ample time to brush up on their CGI.

I think it has to do with whatever VFX team is working on whichever Marvel film. Some visuals look great (Guardians Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and Infinity War) while others look terrible (Black Panther and Spider-Man: Homecoming). Everything else is average.

Phase-1 and Phase-3 are equally great imo. After seeing DCEU's phase-1, makes me appreciate it even more. Also, Phase-2 gave us Winter Soldier and GOTG!

Yeah, "rushing" was probably not the right word. What I meant was Marvel Studios most likely make the filming process cheaper, easier and faster. So they can have this smooth flow of MCU movies being released on time without too many stumbles. I guess that's why people like to say that Marvel Studios is like a well oiled machine. Problem is, making things cheaper, easier and faster gives you subpar results.

They also have a relatively low budget 100-150mil which makes for easier turn of profit. Especially when every one of their films make a billion worldwide and average 350mil domestic.
