Really wish Paramount would release stuff like these and the Transformers movies in a box set. They get rrrrreal expensive if you have to buy them all separately. To the point where I just wind up not buying them.

In this series I’m happy they don’t as I assume the majority only like a few and not all.

Amazon just put up a pre-order for a new Mission: Impossible 5-movie boxset with a release date of June 12. The price is way too low to be a 4K set, but could that be a sign that the individual 4K discs will drop on the same date?

Box sets hurt my OCD, with just a few exceptions. I just don’t like looking at box sets of movies that are still continuing. The Fast and Furious series are one of the biggest offenders. I just want individual copies, it looks more uniform on my shelf.

It might be a long shot, but do you guys think that Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol will feature the IMAX aspect ratio (1.78:1) in the Burj Khalifa scenes?

No idea. It seems to depend on either what master they use or what the director prefers (if they're consulted). Paramount varies. Star Trek Into Darkness and Transformers: The Last Knight had the IMAX aspect ratio. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Age of Extinction did not. It's unpredictable. If they weren't on the BD, I'd lean towards no.

It’s fine if they do individual releases in addition, but with these and Transformers, I want them all, and without a reasonably priced option for that, I just wind up buying none.

As much as I like the varying AR and would love to see it happen for Ghost Protocol, I am still okay with it not having it. Brad Bird has already said his opinion on that matter so I don't think that will change. Even on the blu-ray, the scenes where they used the IMAX cameras still have a noticeable detail/clarity boost over ones that don't. I'd love to see even further clarity in those scenes from the UHD release, that's all that really matters to me.
