It's kinda pricey but it was on sale a few months ago for under $30. The extras wouldn't play on my region A player though. The book is in French but there is a lot of great pictures and letters written in English(an English friendly version of the book is also available). Definitely worth picking up if a domestic release isn't on the horizon.

This. I know it has a region free French release but I like one where the extras are in English and the feature film has English subtitles. It's really the odd film-noir that is missing on Blu.

You could ask the same question of nearly all the Wes Anderson movies that people wait for Criterion releases. The Universal release lacks the commentary track and several other extras on Criterion's DVD.
