If you are familiar with pro wrestling terminology I always considered Scorpion to be the "face" and Code Red (now DF) to be the "heel". Even though they are seperate companies that combo makes for good marketing exposure even if inadvertent.
In my case it's made me stop buying Code Red. I've bought two titles over the last many months, and only because they showed up as Amazon recommendations. In the past I bought maybe half of the output. I've had it with the incompetence and downright hostility towards customers - not to mention the constant whining like an 8 year old girl. Fortunately most of the titles are shit anyway.

I'll still cherish reading this thread though. You can't make dumb like this up.

During the sale I bought five titles. But before that it had been about a year that I hadn’t bought a Code Red title. And this is honestly going to make it harder. Bill might be “finally” loosing money.

I've purchased every Code Red Blu-ray to date. Most were titles I wanted anyway, but I'd say there's probably a good 20-25 where I figured "eh, I'll support Bill."

That's not going to happen any more if he pulls his stuff from Ronin.

BTW - that's not a sour grapes thing. Gives me more room to get around to checking out new labels like MVD.

I'm waiting for a few of the $14.95 to drop to $9.95 before I bite.

Brand new in the wrapper.
This retailer seems to specialize in remainder stock (liquidated at reduced prices). They also have new/pre-order of some titles, but priced OK not great. I have pre-ordered titles from them at prices better than DD, or when the title isn't listed at Amazon.

Usually takes 7+ days for orders to show up on my doorstep.

Use their power search to:
search by publisher
search by binding/media = "Blu-rays" with "added since" = date - to see what titles they've added recently (sort by price to see what is going cheap).

I've received only new stock. I don't recall receiving any "cut corners" (box-knife cut barcodes/cases) as I get from some of the Amazon resellers from time to time.

Thank you so much!!!
That will fastly become my number 1 US outlet (at least for Code Red discs)

I already see several that I didn't want to pay 25$ for, so it's really cool!

Don't get your hopes up. If they sell well at Hamilton Book, Bill won't give them any more.

Most of the time you need to be quick on these Hamiltonbook listings too. Scalpers scoop up the highly desired (not Code Red, sad to say) titles in no time.

They are new, it's basically an online Big Lots if you are familiar with that US retailer.

Because there's not much likelihood of them getting there? Look, I get what you're trying to say, but the reality of the situation is these are all blind-buys for me and no where near essential titles. A lower price will move the needle. I've set my price at $10-11 shipped per title for the 4-5 that I'm interested in. Obviously, I'm not the only one or they wouldn't be at Hamilton Books in the first place.

Well, this Code Red shit has been sitting there for 1-2 months now, so I'll take my chances.

Still haven't heard any good argument why Dark Force Cartel is worse than Ronin Flix for buying Code Red. Yeah ronin has free shipping but the product price is often significantly more expensive than dark force so it turns out to be around the same price after shipping. And DF so far ships just as fast as Ronin.

So what are some valid reasons DF cartel is worse than Ronin for buying CR movies?

For me, it's the free shipping and bi-yearly, more or less, clearance sales.

However, I am aware that you need to compare about 4-5 different sites when doing price comparisons on some titles. So if DF came in consistently lower than Ronin Flix, I wouldn't care as long as they maintained the same customer service.

Dark Force doesn't seem to have as favorable shipping rates to Canada as Ronin does, either. While that's not a huge impact on me, it is a moderate annoyance.

I've also had nothing but positive experience dealing with RoninFlix, and personally I like to reward positive experiences with future (and increasing) business. If Code Red doesn't offer titles on RoninFlix in the future, the odds are that Code Red titles won't get as much priority from me in the future. I continue to be baffled by Bill's anti-customer decisions, however ultimately it's going to be his loss.

For real. "Rich other label" titles are gone within days once they hit that sweet spot price.

I understand the mental niceties of free shipping, but Ronin seems to build the cost of shipping into the product price, meaning the price of the movie itself is higher. So in practice you don't end up saving much money, above I posted a few examples where Dark Force was cheaper even after shipping (at least for USA, not sure how math works out to other locations) .

Re clearance sales, Dark Force has already had a bunch of promotions including free movies and free movie memorabilia with certain criteria met. So I don't think there will be a lack of promotions at Dark Force, you just need to keep an eye on their Facebook page.

Customer service, the one order I placed at Dark Force I received faster than any Ronin order I've ever placed. So as long as that keeps up should not be an issue. Owner of dark force seems very motivated; I think Bill can use someone "high energy" like this to help him push out movies when he's not motivated or otherwise too busy.

I like that Ronin accepts Apple Pay and Credit Card in addition to PayPal. Sometimes I don't feel like spending down my PayPal balance, and more choice in payment options is a benefit.

Dark Force is only PayPal.

I mainly just won't give any money to the moron that made CHAOS. What a turd.

An account of a screening of the movie Chaos, attended by DeFalco, was posted on Roger Ebert's website, detailing DeFalco's shouting of, "I'm a demon" and, "I'm the king of violence".

I'd rather give money straight to Bananaman, shipping delays and ridiculous behavior and all But yeah. The Ronin decision is idiotic.
