Are there any news about this?
The remaster was allegedly supposed to be done this month. |

And reading back on that tweet about March: “UPDATE: Sony is in Season 5 of The Shield 4K Conversion and should complete the series by March. How quickly that results in streaming and DVD options is TBD.” Who knows if “series” means season 1-7 or series 5. The tweet was sent out in December and I don’t see them converting season 5-7 to HD over the space of 4 months. I believe the conversion is far from done and we’re looking at 2019 at the very least. |

![]() Between buying season 1-6 of “24” on Blu-Ray (from Japan) and this news, it will complete everything that I have ever wanted on BluRay in terms of television series. |

Yeah, this is taking entirely too long. It's ridiculous. It'd be faster if they were just doing it without the ******* producer's involvement. I'm so tired of these idiots holding everything up. Just like we still don't have Abyss on BD.

If people think 3 years is long, when I met James Cameron in August 2010 here in Seattle, I specifically asked him when we would see The Abyss on Blu-ray. He said he was excited about it and was getting ready to oversee the transfer for it and said if people were impressed with the Aliens release they would be more than happy with how Abyss would be turning out. That is coming up on 8 years ago since that conversation. With the 30th anniversary approaching next year my guess is we will see a 4K anniversary release finally so hopefully the wait won't be much longer.

Why the hell would you assume the time it takes makes any difference in terms of getting it right? They'll probably still screw up something no matter what. I want to watch the show in HD NOW.

While I understand it takes a good amount of time to remaster movies and tv shows but why do these creators and directors have to be involved in the process if they are doing other things and won’t commit to getting their movie or show out ASAP while doing a good job on it. While I have multiple jobs lined up to do in my line of work I do 1 job at a time to make sure I get the job done right and done at good enough time that people are not complaining that it’s taking to long to finish. If they can’t commit full time at getting these remastered done then they should allow people they trust and who can commit from start to finish to do the job.

If true, then you would have to rethink your post to factor in doing all your paid work first then after a long day of slaying the dragon, going into a studio(when it’s avaialbe) to do whatever work that needs to be done on the pet project. Again, I don’t know what goes into all of these releases on home video, but I’m pretty sure these creators are not just sitting around waiting to work remastering projects that historically don’t boast big sales. Even worse for TV shows. |

If it was me, and I spent time sweat and years of my life making something, I'd want to be sure the outcome was done correctly.
The show was great, and I want the best possible version of it available, I don't mind the wait. |

So what options are there to get this series in 1:1,33 OAR dvd?
As far as i can see every dvd release from season 4 onwards was 1: 1,78? While i can't wait to finally getting this on blu-ray, i kind of want to watch it in the OAR first. Liked "The Wire " much more in 1.33. (The job they did on the reframing was excellent though imo.) |
