Whatever you say, guy.

People know what went on, no need to attempt to diminish or distort the situation.

They may have been pointed in their words, but nobody was rude, nobody threatened you.

If you consider "rude" asking REAL, HARD questions, then sure.
People were rude.

But the manner in which the matters were addressed by the label were less than professional.

I love how you are doing this fake nice thing now instead of boasting about your "deep pockets", thousand dollar ed hardy sneakers, understanding why Bill Olsen HATES his fans so much and your big HBO deal for that Dave Baustista movie from 8 years ago.

Despite all this, I'll be picking up your Primal Scream release.

Best of luck with Point Doom

KIll or Be Killed arrived in today's mail.

Wife was looking at the cover and asked "why is there a Nazi eagle on the spine and back cover?"
I told her it was a bat and showed her a larger image of their logo.

LOL. That was the first thought I had too when I received my first DFE title.

I am interested too, but my expectations are quite low given the poor HD transfer on Amazon prime currently. I am assuming its just going to be a better encoded version of that same poor master. Still getting it tho.

I gotta say, as much as I enjoy talking shit in these forums, I'm extremely satisfied with my 1st DF purchase. Easy online ordering, quick shipping, arrived in 2 days and completely unscathed. DeFalco can back up his hype.

Since you own all 3, is the "drive in mode" content of all 3 different? Or a lot of duplicate stuff?

OK, I'm going to give the PQ/AQ review a whirl.
We watched Kill or Be Killed last night (midnight to 2am) after watching the VS DVD, Gameshow Models. I wanted to use the DVD as an SD reference. My setup is Oppo 103, Samsung 55" LED, and Yamaha 1400 soundbar. All components are circa 2014-2015 and semi-calibrated with Spears & Munsil benchmarks. I say semi because we adjusted it (and we are no where near expert).

No problems finding "right" setting on my Yamaha soundbar (setting = DTS-ClearVoice) . Audio was in-sync. I don't recall any glaring issues. She recalls some scenes where the sound had background noise, but dialog remained discernable.

Movie started with more video noise than I expected (vertical line(s) in image, other noise). With DFE's emphasis on "drive in" releases, immediately I was wondering if this was intentional damage and would continue throughout the movie. Fortunately, it cleared up after the opening. Vertical scratches and dust/dirt did reappear randomly during the film. I spotted a hair at least once. After the beginning sequences, this noise never overwhelmed the image. It never came close to pulling me out of the movie.

Color appeared good. Color did not "pop", but it didn't appear washed out or badly faded. Sometimes the skin tones were off and would vary between scenes and shots. Nothing terrible; no Martians or Orions to be found.

We didn't detect any issues with edges. No stairsteps or ringing, but we tend to get sucked into the narrative. So, nothing so blatant that we noticed it.

Image clarity comments: No waxy faces; no blurring. This wasn't an image where you could count hairs per follicle, but you still could see skin texture and blemishes in the close-ups. Perhaps some smoothing, but nothing severe to us.

PQ/AQ summary. Beyond the starting of the film, there were no severe issues to distract us. Any further distractions (scratches/hair) were mild and did not pull us from the movie. No severe damage (no image tearing, no jumps to indicate missing footage); if there was, we didn't notice it. Audio was fine for my needs; she noticed a few issues but I don't recall them.

OK, that sums up our review. We are not professionals, but have watched thousands of movies. We can spot both crap or quality releases. This is not an archival restoration, but for us, it was fine.

Thank you for the review. Personally, I did not expect it to be this good. I thought we were in store for a mediocre DVD quality master, but this appears a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to the release.

That review is fine with me . As long as we have an organic transfer (no use of excessive DNR), it’s good enough here. I should have my copy soon.

I'm perfectly happy with this release. My opinion may appear more severe than intended. If I missed something that I should have seen, please call it out so that I can learn.

As far as the review of the story, I'll leave that to Owl. He does a much better job than I could. There is a lot of topless action in this release.

Thanks for the feedback on the PQ and AQ. This is one of the top cult films that I was looking foward to a Blu-ray release. Sounds good .
