This was by far the best movie going experience i've had since probably Dunkirk and Interstellar in my local IMAX Theatre. The laser 4k 88' screen 3D with new surround upgrades was just mesmerizing. Spielberg def has a masterpiece with this film.

AUTONATION IMAX THEATRE IN FTLAUDERDALE FTMFW

I love having that theatre in my backyard to watch all these films in.

cant wait for the 4k release although it will never match an IMAX experience

He shot Bridge of Spies anamorphically. Take that as you will.

I watched this in 2D 2K on a Samsung LED cinema screen. The blacks were not encoded as 0 nits but some dark grey as the end credits clearly showed. :-(

I only buy genuine 4K mastered movies in UHD. The technical specs on IMDb currently list it as being mastered in 4K, but I won't hold my breath. However, if it is, day one. No doubt.

Again, there's more to it than resolution. There are 2k upscales that look better than some true 4k transfers.

It all depends.

I thought Dunkirk looked great in parts, but on the whole, I thought it would have looked better if I'm being honest.

I'm really picky when it comes to PQ and sometimes I'm genuinely surprised by the fidelity of 2K movies. It's totally a case by case basis.

He's got one of those TVs that don't play 2K upscales.

Watched this at the Seattle Cinerama today, which is a 4K laser projector. Image quality was outstanding (despite not being a huge fan of the blacks on non-Dolby Cinema DLPs). Will be interesting to see the comments on this when it hits home. I see a lot of issues with the image from post work. Saw moments where it was clear that DNR was being used to clean up a face only to have literally in the same scene detail kick back in a frame later. Hard to spot if you weren't looking for it, but I caught it a few times (all scenes in the real world). The Oasis stuff all looked spectacular though and will probably be showcase material for quite some time to come.

Amazon has some offer for this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox?gb...=1524059083117

Pre-order "Ready Player One 4K" and receive $5 off select 4K titles. Has anybody pre-ordered from Amazon? Do you know what the select titles are?

I watched it there and also in in the AMC Dolby Cinema. To me, the Dolby Cinema had a much richer coloring. Will be interested in how it is on your home setup. I will say the Cinerama had better food options and better clientele than the AMC Dolby.

Yeah, I wish the two would combine. I want the projector and bass shakers of the AMC DC but the room, screen and snacks of the Cinerama.

Plus AMC still needs to work out their lights. But that is what happens when you get better blacks, you notice all the other lights a lot more.
