Doesn't matter if their all artistic and stuff. At the end of the day. That don't pay the bills. It's something we all need.
Yes, I would like to know what attracts a director who makes high class fantastic films to make a sequel to a dumpster fire Hollywood blockbuster. It makes me interested in something I otherwise had no interest in. Fincher has clearly made more than enough not churning out generic blockbusters, so him doing this is clearly not just about the money. If he wanted to do stuff just for the money he's had twenty plus years to do it.

World War Z was pretty good and a fresh take on a zombie movie. Great tension.

He likes working with Brad Pitt, and an FX-heavy action / horror blockbuster is a new kind of challenge. He's one of the most acclaimed directors working today, and he's directed plenty of successful films. So I trust that he's not just doing it for the money, but because he wants to, and has some good ideas for it.

Hopefully he'll take those crazy 'swarm' fx to the next level with the sequel. It would be good if Fincher shot in 3D too as that would be a first for him and seeing as he's such a camera nut.

I'd love to see Fincher get to run with an R-rating for this, but that's probably too much to hope for; however, I'd like to think this will be a sequel that's as subversive in its own way as Alien 3 was.

I'll second that. But I'll be happy with whatever the result is. World war Z movie? Plus 1. Fincher? Plus 3. Result ≥ 1 = happy me.

It's too early to say if it will be released in 3D for sure, much less shot native, and this comes from way before dramatic improvements in 3D conversions, but Fincher has previously expressed a desire to shoot a film in 3D

It'd be nice to see Fincher tackle a sequel with full creative control for a change.

Fincher's track record is rock solid, i have zero doubts about this movie. he is going to make it at least good, period.

even better than expected? great! it is the biggest project for fincher by far, tackling a heavy CGI...maybe...(the 3rd act of the WWZ was more classic non-CGI) so im guessing fincher is gonna be aiming for 3rd act sort of stuff but on his own direction. it's gonna be interesting because it is a zombie movie on a grand scale with brad pitt as the main actor. i mean fincher directing a zombie movie? that must be seen, so many of them are bad.

Fincher has been working on it for a year and still isn't convinced a sequel is even necessary? Wow.

Thank goodness.

Mindhunter losing Fincher's involvement would have been horrible.

He should just ditch WWZ2 at this point.

I feel a bit like a fool for getting excited about this. It seems to me it's ever gonna happen. Not with Fincher, anyway.

I just wish Fincher would get SOMETHING off the ground. I don't care about his tv show Mindhunters, and we haven't gotten a film from him in what, 4 years already? (and his last couple were underwhelming to me, especially Gone Girl) What a waste.

It's like the way James Cameron was one of my favorite directors, but we have gotten nothing but Avatar from him in OVER 20 YEARS now, with apparently nothing but Avatar from him coming for the next 10. Wasting decades of a great director's career.

+1 would prefer Fincher focus on Mindhunter, as much as I'd like to see him do World War Z 2.

World War Z is a good actioner, I feel it can be handled by any talented director in that genre. Mindhunter other hand gets lost what was set up in S1 if not for Fincher.

Pitt will be 60 by the time this gets made, if it ever gets made.
