Default Liquidation - Circuit City?

It sounds like if Circuit City does not find a buyer buy 01/16/09, it will start to liquidate its inventory and go out of business. If that happens I am sure they will start to drop the prices on just about everything. Everyone should keep an eye out for good deals.

I was wondering when they set the timeline for, thanks for the heads up! Hopefully those folks affected by this can find jobs asap during this rough time.

I feel sorry for the 10% of the employees at my CC that were coutreous and knowledgeable. The other 90% not so much.

Circuit City sucks, their Blu Rays are always more expensive then Best Buy or most retailers. Thats not how you stay in business. That capitalism bye bye cc.

That's Nintendo's fault. It's been the same story for the past two years after Christmas.

Exactly. CC going out of business is not a good thing.

the city i live in, the only competition best buy has is walmart, shopko, & target. they don't have any insanely outrageous prices on blu's, or home theater equip. for that matter. but, i also live in a smaller market than most people. the city the best buy is located in is less than 60,000 people.

This really can't be stressed enough. Regardless of your personal opinion of Circuit City, they are competition, and they help other stores keep their prices down. In places like Florida, where there are no "Fry's" or any other "Electronic retailer" the loss of Circuit City will drive the prices up at Best Buy.

well theres Wal-Mart. target, Costco,Sam's Club that will continue to be a presence and keep prices in an acceptable range. CC lost its competitor value a long while ago. Have you seen their recent sale ads?

That's an interesting story. It's also interesting because on Satruday I went to dinner with a few friends and one of them was talking about how great things are for his friends at their CC and how one of them got promoted. I guess he hasn't heard about this.
