As mentioned several posts back, midnight screenings are often park of a double or triple bill, that starts at 7/9pm ish the evening before release. With the new movie showing minutes after midnight, so minutes into release day

We haven't had one here since The Dark Knight Rises massacre. A few theaters in the area still have midnight shows on weekends, but never for the Thursday preview shows, they're always at 7 or 8 now.

Yeah, unless its a mega blockbuster like this/Star Wars, there aren't any midnight shows here anymore. I haven't done a midnight showing since the first Avengers.

Same here. Everyone shifted to early shows except one theater downtown. I’m fine with it, TBH.
