Yes what I meant was that the 40th anniversary regular blu in the US has more features than the regular blu in the UK. But it looks like Paramount are releasing the 40th anniversary regular blu as well, and it looks likely that it will be part of the 4K set too.

The only thing that gave me some doubt was that Paramount (and Warner) sometimes cheap out and give the UK the old blus (or drop discs for 3-disc sets) in the 4K release rather than using the newer ones (see Goodfellas, Star Trek Into Darkness).

Anyway, looks like that isn't the case here!

I would imagine they are on the J-card too - most manufacturers of steelbooks relise collectors get them to display the artwork not to have it covered in ratings info; I haven't see any printed on UK steels for years (and even if not on the J-card they were transparent stickers so they could be removed).
In fact my last 'nasty shock' with a rating printed onto the metal of a steelbook was an old Dutch Pacific Rim release.

I had a dispatch email from Zavvi on Thursday to say my Grease/Grease2 Steelbook was on its way. Could take up to a week to arrive though!

My 4K is still 'awaiting stock' but claims its estimated delivery is Monday. I seriously doubt it will arrive then. Zavvi's delivery seems to either be fast and excellent or slow and terrible. So unreliable!

My double pack turned up. Ratings logo is a sticker. Interestingly both disks are on the left side while the magnet sheet is on the right.

I've got to admit, I'm extremely excited to see what Grease 2 looks like on Blu. It's one of those movies that I've always wanted on Blu, so I'm beyond thrilled it's finally happening. Do we think this will be a new remaster, or just the dull relatively acceptable HD version thats been circulated for years? I mean I'm pretty shocked the film isn't getting a solo release in the US or the UK, so I'm wondering how much effort they actually put into it.

Anyone who gets it, please let me know! Thanks

Like Batman 2 says:

Me too!

Yet, other items Zavvi had in stock last week that I ordered turned up within 48 hours... as mentioned earlier in the thread, why they don't have pre-orders packed and ready to go in time for release date arrival is beyond me!

On another note, the fact that this is listed explicitly as a 40th anniversary edition gives me some hope that Paramount might provide equivalent extras on the regular blu to the US 40th anniversary edition. However I would not be in the least bit surprised if they just bunged in the previous blu-ray...
UK 40th Anniversary release of Grease
Amaray Standard Blu-ray and Steelbook standard Blu-ray is the 40th anniversary remastered with new extras

40th Anniversary standard Blu-ray Disc USA/UK has same new 3 extras
4K UHD both USA/UK has no extras

What made you think 2D UK steelbook blu-ray advertised as 40th Anniversary newly remastered with new bonus features be not this LOL

In my (weak) defence, I only registered the bonus features thing after I'd made my speculation (40th Anniversary bit might just have been referring to the UHD / a repackaged blu set)! And I could well believe that Paramount might muck up (it could be them that's mucked up the 4K steelbook shipments; might not be Zavvi... although knowing Zavvi, it's probably Zavvi...). I agree it would be pretty bad given all the advertising of new bonus features to do so, though!

The 4K steel now seems to have disappeared from their website... I can only see the regular 4K one.

Does that mean they're going to cancel?

Still there, just doesn't show up in searches: https://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/grease.../11717602.html

Knowing Zavvi it will be cancelled as they can't source any, and then return to the website at a later date when they mysteriously find more copies of it...

Well, the 4k steel says sold out so for Zavvi does "sold out" really mean sold out but they'll fulfill the preorders that they had stock for or does it mean "sorry, but we can't fulfill this product at all"?
