A frustrated girl attempts an occult ritual in order to kill her mother, but awakens something sinister in the woods instead, in the latest from director Adam MacDonald (Backcountry).

Starring : Laurie Holden, Nicole Muñoz, Eric Osborne, Chloe Rose

Playing at TIFF 2017, no release date yet.

I saw it today and started a thread, I searched and didn't see this one existed. It's really good but extremely slow. It's creepy and in a similar vein as The Witch I guess you could say. I liked it a lot.

I thought it was alright, the ending was disturbing but didn't make all that much sense from a character perspective.

Loosely yeah, you feel the same dread at times. It's eerie. It's available now if you want to check it out. It's an IFC release so I doubt we'll get a blu-ray, sadly.

God I hope you're right. The only other option would be to get the region locked German release.

IFC Midnight titles tend to hit NetFlix the same day Scream Factory releases their blu-ray.

I contacted the company distributing the disc and Germany and I was told most of their releases are region B locked. I don't know how true that is but our German members seem to not want to help.

That clip completely creeped me out. And I'm sitting a sun-bathed room in the middle of the afternoon/early evening.

Backcountry was a pretty tense and effective thriller; I'll definitely give this a watch. Damn, I almost didn't recognize The Walking Dead's Laurie Holden as the mom in that trailer.
