Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - SPOILER THREAD

The Avengers the Infinity War! I really have to watch what I say here, so as to not spoil the many surprises this film holds (even for me). So let me stick with generalities, with a few specifics tossed in at the end, concerning Josh Brolin. Visually spectacular, as are all the Marvel movies. But this film hits emotional depths few of the others have even come close to, yet humor takes center stage at all the rights moments. There are a couple times my chest constricted from what I was seeing, making me want to cry. You’ll recognize those instances when you watch the film. Brolin is an incredible Thanos, moving and emoting just as I tried to portray him in the comics. The movie’s two and a half running time shoots past nearly unnoticed. The thing is though, I feel I’m going to have to view the film a number of more times before I get a solid grip on just how good it is. Still at that rather stunned point. Yes, I know my opinion should be considered a bit biased, because of my connection to the production but the Russos, Markus, McFeely and everyone else involved in this film get my heartfelt thanks for bringping everyone’s favorite Titan to life in the best way possible, in a jaw-droppingly awesome fashion. Ten out of ten thumbs up,

Based on the sources I've interpolated, these sound pretty legit. So there's no turning back.

Here goes.

• Loki dies in first 20 minutes of the movie
• Iron Man and Nebula are the only ones alive on Titan with few remaining on Earth
• Hawkeye and Antman/Wasp not in movie
• Gamora gets killed
• Thanos does the snap, which makes Spider-Man, Bucky, Drax, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and everyone except the original Avengers, Nebula, Rocket, and War Machine crumble into dust. The characters who disappeared probably surely come back but leaves most of the survivors along with Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Captain Marvel to take bigger role in the next movie.
• Hulk gets beaten pretty badly in the opening scene and is sent to earth by Thanos. Banner has hard time being hulk after this and is user of Hulkbuster.
• Post Credit scene does involve Fury calling Captain Marvel prior to his death with the snap.
• Dinklage is indeed playing Dwarf king who helps forge Thor’a new weapon.
• Strange plays integral part in bringing Stark to the mix.
• Hulk is never turned into ‘Hulk’ again. (Trailer with Wakanda scene of Hulk running up to battle is complete misguidance.
• Gamora has indeed found Soul Stone previously but has hidden this information from Thanos. She does give herself up in a way to save others and gets killed by Thanos
• Vision is killed in Wakanda

No flashback. He's guarding the Soul Stone and he tells Thanos that he needs to sacrifice someone he loves in order to be able to use it. It's also still Hugo Weaving.

No. I guess he was teleported to the other stone, and has been there watching over it for nearly a 100 years. It's a really short cameo, and not a lot of information is given.

Hopefully he returns in A4 and fights it out with CA one last time.

Pretty much. It's never explained, but it's the logical assumption to make. He's kind of like the Knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade who is watching over the Holy Grail.

Probably defeating Thanos and undoing Thanos thinning out half the universe.

I just can’t believe the ending turns out to be a huge cop out. Not a damn one of those characters stays dead, obviously, and the only ones that do are the ones we all figured would die any way like Loki and Vision.

Plus no ant man or Hawkeye? Seriously? And how they going to market SM2 when it comes out a few months after IW2 and we know he’s alive, clearly.

Just call it Homecoming 2 because SM2 sounds like Sam Raimi Spider-Man 2 or even Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I've been saying this for years. That's why I never been aboard on the Thanos hype train. Almost everyone he is going to kill is just going to come back anyway, so it kinda diminishes the impact a bit. Now that wouldn't matter if you can get behind Thanos' motives, but his motives in the comics wouldn't work. Hell, just recently, even the writers agreed that Thanos' comic book motives wouldn't translate well into film. So yeah, it looks like my concerns with Thanos, as a villain anyway, is coming true. He should still be a great character in general, though. But comparing him to Darth Vader? HA! Yeah right. Save that when you get Doctor Doom back, Marvel Studios.
