It all depends. They really don't, really. Alternative timelines and universes in Marvel comics is VERY convoluted. Especially when it comes to the X-Men. Some Marvel characters from the comics even traveled to the MCU. But uselessly, traveling into an alternative timeline or universe doesn't really change anything. Like there is a timeline where The Avengers were all killed off by the Sentinels, and there is another timeline where The Avengers never became Avengers and became mutant hunters instead. Basically, once you split a thread into two or three threads, there is no going back.

Finally saw this movie.
To point out: The spoilers, when reading them, sound totally stupid, when it's only words. But you know MARVEL, has their way of making something stupid look cool, which was the case with this movie. The only problem is - it's still stupid, regardless of how cool it looks. Let me put it this way: Watching the movie after trusting the directors words and following the teases and spots, gives you a pretty shitty time. Watching the movie ignoring those morons' lies and the shitty promotional campaign, it's quite enjoyable, especially if you switch off that lil' ol' brain to most of what happens. This movie actually has me split in two. It's a beautiful mess. That's the best way I can describe it. I noticed a dip in the quality of MCU movies since Black Panther came out (holy hell what an abysmal film). I had hoped that Infinity War would make up for it. It half did, half didn't. Thanos IS a cool villain, that much is certain. There's also very stunning visuals (part of the stupid cool stuff, y'know). The visuals and effects are probably what's keeping this movie from being worse than Thor 1 & 2, at least for me personally. All in all, a decent movie, but FAR from perfect, considering the 10 year buildup for an average to low payoff. Underwhelming but entertaining. If I could rate it (which I will when I can on a poll), I'd give it a 2/5 (rounded from 2.5, I was really split with this movie). I still hold out SOME hope for the upcoming Ant Man & The Wasp, Captain Marvel, and of course, Avengers 4. Perhaps Spider-Man 2 as well if the next 3 MCU movies aren't that bad. |

Kudos on being honest with your review Kylo.. so many mcu fanboys give all their products perfect ratings every time and it’s laughable.. they never admit the flaws and love to bash other franchises (X-men, dc etc).. for some reason I thought you were like that. I apologize.

The question is does it only affect the planet it’s being done on, cause if so Xandar, Loki, Asgard, Gamora will still be gone. |

The Netflix shows have secretly been in the fixed timeline all along. The battle of New York clearly still happens either way, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what they do. I also have a strange feeling that the New York plan won't work. It'd be weird to just retcon the entire MCU past that point. THAT would be an actual middle finger.
