Lightbulb New PS4 Games in Development

Thread for any new previews of new and in development PS4 games.

EDIT: 2019. I added spoiler tags to the videos for those with slower connections. I noticed it was taking a bit longer to load this thread.

Sinking City for PS4 is said to be an open world game. Looks promising.

Biomutant for PS4, openworld game.

Looks good, I'm still waiting on Red Dead Redemption 2 which is supposed to be released in October. Now I'm wanting to play God of War and GTA V: Premium Edition.

I've been following Biomutant since it was first announced. It looks really interesting.

Divinity 2 looks promising. Thanks for posting it. Cool to hear it's heading to PS4 from PC.

Yes, Biomutant for PS4 could be unique with an animal character as the hero. THQ Nordic looks like they'll release it for PS4 hopefully in 2018.

Dragon Quest XI, which uses the old-school turn based combat of traditional RPGs from what I see. The art work looks great as usual for the series.
September 4, 2018 for Dragon Quest XI on PS4.

Conan Exiles is another PC game heading to PS4 in 2018. This game has a 3rd and First person view choice which is nice, similar to what Skyrim and Fallout offers.
Conan Exiles for PS4 has a May 8, 2018 release date.

Conan looks pretty awesome. Divinity looks pretty cool too. Not sure if I love that kind of play style. Though I did enjoy Dragon Age a lot if the game play is similar to that. It was fun.

Don't think I could ever play something like Fox n Forest in this day and age. No offense intended to those that like that kind of thing.

Fox n Forests looks interesting. I like the sprite graphic style to the game, though it'll be interesting to see how it varies from many other side scrollers. There's plenty of room for side scrollers on PS4 though compared to Steam for PC.

Soul Calibur VI looks interesting with some new characters. I bought the first Soul Blade game for the PS1 and enjoyed it after playing the arcade version first. It reminded me of Samurai Shodown 1 and 2, my two favorite arcade games of all time.

OMG Soul Calibur! You just made my day! I had no idea this was coming. I'll be getting it for sure. I think it was the original Xbox I had it for and loved it. I like the fighting style and use of weapons. I used to play on the hardest setting and the last few fights could sometimes take me forever to win. Super intense fast paced battles.

Samuria Shodown was also one of my favorites. I used to have it for the Panasonic 3DO. I don't remember what version I had. The second one maybe, probably. I had an apartment about a block from where I worked and some buddies from work would come over after work nearly every day and we would spend a few hours battling Samuria Shodown. Good times.

Yes, Soul Calibur is a cool series. I played it again with a newer version on my 360 if I remember, but then lost all my games when I traded it in after it red-ringed for the 3rd time and got the last replacement before the warranty ran out. I'll consider this new one. Fighting on the toughest difficulty, great challenge, agreed.

Cool you enjoyed Samurai Shodown too. Back in college, I used to play that game in between classes and would battle against some very tough human competition. Kyoshiro and his lion fire kick was a favorite character. One time, I fought off and defeated 12 players waiting to play it before I finally was taken down by a Ukyo master. Those were the days. I still play the game on my PS2 in the collection, and I see it's on PS4 too digitally. They charge $8 per game though, not fair. I'll probably just buy it soon so I have it in 1080p.

That would be welcome for many CT fans.

I'd like a new Syphon Filter game with Gabe Logan as the star. The PS2 version dropped him as the main hero, for a create a hero.

That' awesome. Yeah human apponents are always the best. Fighting games were always great for entertainment at parties too. I had a few friends that were really good. One friend in particular our matches could get really long because we were both so good at blocking and countering each other. If there is online play I might try my hand at it if I end up getting into it enough.

I heard about that red ring thing on the 360 that is unfortunate. I think my original Xbox still works. I must have the old Soul Calibur somewhere. I'm tempted to dig it out. I wasn't sure how much time I wanted to invest in a fighting game with everything else I'm into now days. And I got Mortal Combat X when that came out and have not played it that much. But fighting games are at the roots of my gaming. It's in my blood. And I'm pretty excited about Soul Calibur. So we'll see. Watched some game play of it and looks pretty awesome. Too bad we can't have it in VR... Probably only a matter of time before we get a VR fighting game though.

Anyone have any idea when it might be released other than this year sometime? Hopefully sooner than later...

And oh man this guy is going to be playable too!

Sounds like you were a skilled fighter in the game to keep the battle going for so long against that tough opponent. Way to go. Yes, Geralt from Witcher 3 will be a featured character which is cool to see, as he's great with swords, but I wish he could use two swords at once.

Thanks for the video link. Looks cool. Yes, online play I believe is a must for the game, as well as offline. But yeah, hopefully summer 2018 would be nice.

For a while I was putting a lot of tie into the fighting games so did get pretty good with the characters I used.

That Call of Cuthlu game looks really fun. It should be VR...

Weather is getting pretty nice here right now in Minnesota. Might not have a lot of time to play for a little bit. We'll see. Trying to get out doing some outdoor stuff while it's still nice and not too hot. And a cabin I'm itching to spend some time at too. Got spring fever lol. Thought about trying to bring the VR to the cabin since I don't need a TV for it. But not much sense in that really. If I want to play VR I can stay home and do that and save the gas money lol. Unless it's an extended trip would be alright.

Remnant From the Ashes looks like it has some fun 3rd person action game play set in an apocalyptic city as you fight monsters with machine guns.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival-action game set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by mythical creatures. The game provides players and up to three of their friends with a unique, customizable gameplay experience filled with intense shooting and melee combat, gear and weapon crafting, character progression and dynamically-generated levels that offer an infinite number of ways to explore and take on deadly monsters and epic bosses. - Summary by Developer.

World War Z - 3rd person

Sinking City - 3rd person Weather and day/night cycle.

Daymare - 3rd person horror survival.

Biomutant - 3rd person RPG action.

Darksiders 3 - latest gameplay 3rd person.

Sekiro - Gameplay in 3rd person.

A Plague Tale: 3rd person. Not sure if it's open world as this looks linear.

First of the North Star, from the developers of the Yakuza series. Looks cool for the art style and action.

Rather than make a new thread for every new game, I'll put this trailer here for Earth Defense Force Rain set for April 11, 2019 on PS4.

World War Z PS4 April 16, 2019, not far from Days Gone PS4 April 26th.

Beyond that, and a few games, I'm not seeing much on PS4 for new open world games later this year, unless I'm missing something. There's that Samurai open world game, but no date yet.

Control from Remedy (Max Payne) for PS4. I'm surprised, as they've been exclusive to XBox for years now. Alan Wake, and a couple others it seems.

Reminds me of Psi Ops and Force Unleashed, among other telekinetic games.

Control has my interest. Quantum Break has some cool gameplay & not so bad graphics. The live action story I think hurt that particular game.
