Kordz (Australia) - available on Amazon (they even have one of the few THX Certified cables, if not the only one) - they are a 'premium quality cable'

although, 'any' HDMI Premium Certified (labeled) cable should be just fine, regardless either the brand or price (they can be quite inexpensive and provide expected performance)

exceptionally quite (most players are quiet, with the single exception of the potentially problematic LG UP970, which might have an less than idea drive - originally at least - that seems corrected with 2018 production; but not certain)

Honestly pretty peeved with this player now. Up until today it never had issue with UHD Blu-rays, even triple layer.

But today I'm babysitting someone who just had surgery and we watched a bunch of movies and *every single one* was freezing or glitching like crazy. Taking the disc out and putting it back in usually resolved it.

Atomic Blonde, Valerian, The Mummy. Discs in pristine condition that have played back flawlessly before (as well as playing back flawlessly still on Xbox One, I checked).

Any new players coming out with Dolby Vision? Won't be buying a new one without it at this point, and not a huge fan of this one anymore.

yes :: 2018 LG UBK80 (might be UBK90) (soon) - it's quite affordable and it is my understanding it will have Dolby Vision support 'out of the box' which is somewhat unusual thus far

Vangeli: I would say panasonic 820 seems really good on paper at least. In stock here in europe in a few days. Hopefully we get some reviews then. Will get dv update and in us it might come with the player since later launch.

curious :: did you try unplugging for a few minutes? :: that 'might' help

reminder :: it is a very good player; regardless it's issues :: (my feeling is that all players should be expected - at this point in time - to have intermittent irregularities, as unfortunate as that is, and i have no idea why at this point in time)

I'm using a inexpensive Amazon Basics 5 meters HDMI cable without a single problem. It works and it works well,no picture or sound cuts or HDMI handshake issues. Try one of these, you can always return it if it doesn't work for you or you prefer a different looking cable.

Are you running the latest firmware?
I had it happen as well. It has even froze on my while streaming Netflix. A simple unplug and reboot always seems to fix it. I haven't ever been able to pinpoint a problem. It might do it once out of 20 hours of random streaming and disk watching.

Hello

my SONY X-800 today had the same problem as the previous X-800

without receiving any signal from the remote control

the green light is on but no play or any other

the only thing that fz is to eject the DVD when you press the button of the device

I do not know what this is, but I'll give it back

Does anyone know what this is?

Thank you

Unplug your Sony X800, wait couple minutes and plug it back in.

Perform a Reset; page 26 in your operating instructions manual.

This happened several times per year on my BDP-S790, mostly after streaming Netflix. Sony's last insult was when my Netflix app died.

My response to that rubbish, is my Roku Ultra as my dedicated streamer. That worked quite well.

Sony BDP are terrible streamers.

I haven't had a single issue with the X800 so far. To be fair, though, I don't use it as my streaming device, I use my TV for Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, MoviesAnywhere, etc. I use my BDP to, ya know, play blu-rays and DVDs.
