She's definitely one of the films best points but I don't really count her as a Bond girl for the same reason I don't include Grace Jones, Luciana Palluzzi,Kristina Wayborn or many of the others that Bond doesn't need to save or are actually against him.
For me each Bond film usually has only one Bond girl which is the leading lady although there are a few exceptions throughout.
A pleasant change though to see a Bond female not get dubbed

That's where I got my extra EON disc from! He's raised the price 10 bucks though...glad I got it when I did...

I loved her in the movie!
One thing I didn't like about NSNA is Connery's makeup and hairpiece.
Thicker eye brows and better hairstyle would have made Connery appear younger.

Does anybody know what music is used in the trailer for Never Say Never Again? I'm just really curious about it. It does not appear on the NSNA soundtrack as far as I know...

Which is good and should have been used in the film.

It's the worst score of any Bond film except CASINO ROYALE 1960s'.

I've gotten as far as MOONRAKER. The only one I have a beef with is THUNDERBALL. Sometimes the scenes look too black.

The best transfer is YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE.

Now I saw DR. NO from BOND CONNERY vol. and now I saw it again on the current 2016 set . The BOND CONNERY vol. looked better. Are they supposed to be the same transfers with just new packaging?

I remembered it as being a bit boring as a child, but now re-watching it 20+ years later I loved it! 9/10 for me. I really liked:
  • The theme song sung by Lani Hall (apparently Boni Tyler turned it down!)
  • The story
  • Kim Basinger (one of the sexiest Bond girls ever)
  • Barbara Carrera (best psychotic Bond girl since Xenia Onatopp)
  • As someone said before, Largo is one of the most interesting, complex and nuanced Bond villains in the series played brilliantly by Klaus Maria Brandauer.
  • Great stunt work
  • Sean Connery's performance a massive improvement on DAF, he looks like he's having fun with it.
Are you aware of the Phyllis Hyman version of the song NSNA?
Connery's performance in DAF is like he's having fun.

I think Eon and Moore both acknowledged the only reason he made his last two was because they really couldn't find anyone else to take over the part.

Even the best makeup couldn't hide his age in AVTAK.

IIRC they didn't decide to offer the part to Brosnan until after AVTAK but Remington Steele wouldn't let him go
Moore looked good in AVTAK he just got a face lift.
Only problem was the stunt men didn't match Moore's looks.

Moore's problem wasn't his face, it was his movement. Even when he was younger he looked physically awkward. But paring him with Patrick Macnee - whilst charming - made it seem like two old codgers taking on the world's oldest stuntmen.

Which of the Bond blu-rays have windowboxed title sequences besides Moonraker?

Absolutely, and that sword fight in the club is a terrific action sequence, as good as any fight sequence in the best Bonds. I always thought Die Another Day was a good time, right down to the invisible car and atmospheric ice palace...and there was something oddly reassuring about Madonna giving an utterly wooden and unconvincing performance even in a cameo.

Die Another Day is silly and over-the-top at times but it's not the only film in the series like that. People always talk about the invisible car as some sort of nadir for the series, but they actually based that on real technology that was / is being developed. The only problem I have with DAD is the horrible CGI that was used (particularly in the windsurfing sequence) but then again, there's always been some ropey special effects sequences in the series from back projection in Dr. No to that weird scene in Live and Let Die when Kananga blows up like a balloon!

What I really like about Die Another Day though is that is uses a lot of plot points from the original Moonraker novel, to the point that it's more of an adaptation of that book than the actual movie Moonraker is. The fencing sequence takes place in a club called Blades, which is the name of the gambling club where Bond first encounters Hugo Drax in the book, plus the whole concept of the villain
[Show spoiler]completely changing his physical appearance and identity in order to hide his past as he becomes a rich industrialist and benefactor
is also taken directly from the novel.

Die Another Day for me is excellent, maybe even great, up until the 3rd act. If they had found a better way to finish it off, I think it would be heralded as one of the all time greats in the series.

I also mostly like TWINE, up until Denise Richards shows up. Whoever decided to cast her as a nuclear scientist should have been ran out of Hollywood and never let back in. Even suspending disbelief, her acting and performance was so bad that it nearly makes the movie unwatchable for me.
