It's absolute crap!
Everything you just described sounds great now that it's the year 2018. I've never seen the film but I love films that ooze late 80's/early 90's. This includes Comedy, action as well as horror efforts. While I can certainly understand why someone would have not enjoyed it when it was first released, everything you just described reminds me of my childhood and in turn makes my nostalgia meter read 10.

This film is great! Trust me, judging by your taste, I'm almost sure you'll love it. Brainscan has been a favorite of mine since it was released on VHS.....I'm pretty sure I still have a poster from the video store. Can't wait for this bluray, amazing news SCREAM!

There is nostalgia and there is junk. For me Brainscan is junk.

Scream is overrated, but horrors like Brainscan is the reason it had to happen.

Each to their own. I saw this film in an empty cinema back in 95 in my teens. Thought it was OK. Revisited it 10 years later and just laughed at it. hah
