Before Avengers 3 3D started, Ant Man 2's 3D was impressive in the trailer, with high medium to some strong 3D going on. I have hope the 3D will be on par with recent Marvel films.

Agree... 3D trailer looked great. Ant-Man 1 is one of my faves in 3D, so the sequel looks to be as good.

I'm with you. And I swear if we have to have an awkward Tony Stark cameo I'll cringe... But yes please more stand alone movies without a cast of 15 lead characters.

Well said, I much prefer these 'standalone' Marvel movies and I have a hard time with the team up ones.

Let's hope the 3D for this one is as good as the first movie, I have faith it will be.

I enjoy the team-ups, but I also prefer the solo movies--they give you a chance to connect with the character a little more, IMO, and that increases the dramatic stakes.

I also loved the first Ant-man. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but a lot of it felt like a nice nod to The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), a great movie in its own right.

After seeing IW, don't be surprised if Tony Stark shows up, possibly to connect to the next Avengers movie. Very possible, considering the Ant man/Iron man animosity "...you can't trust a Stark" "who are you?" , etc.

I’m willing to bet
[Show spoiler]the ending dovetails with Infinity War, with people evaporating.
No Stark cameo needed.

The original version of Ghost was one of my favorite antagonists from the Iron Man comics and I am very pleased that they went with a similar look for this movie. In fact, it looks so good that the gender swap doesn't bother me at all.

Ditto. It's about the only thing that made the latest (terrible!) Spiderman movie bearable. Five Spiderman movies already and they are all sad affairs.

I have to watch Ant-Man 3D again before this sequel hits theaters this summer.

I'm a fan of Tobe Maguire's and Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but everyone's entitled to their opinion with the type of entertainment they enjoy or not. Briefly, what didn't you like about those films and what could improve them in your view? And how do you feel about Ant-Man? And the 3D in it? Thanks.

I’m with you. Raimi’s “Spider-Man 2” is considered by many (I’m one) to be one of the top-tier comic book flicks.

I didnt like spiderman 2 much. I didnt like a lot of the cinematography and the slow motion and the close ups. Something about it was too cheesy. I couldnt get through watching it last time.

Didn't you like any of the Spiderman movies? #3 was not very good, but the rest have been entertaining. I never read the comic book, so I don't have any attachment, or expectations for the character.

Ant-Man 2 looks like it'll bring the humor back, which is good for this style of character being able to shrink to the size of an electron.

Thanks.

Tobe's Spider-Man 1 and 2 are my favorite Spider-Man movies. I still like part 3 with Sandman as the villain, despite a few flaws. Great story telling, and the train subway scene in part 2, that was incredible IMO. Just the whole story arch that Peter Parker goes through, as well as the villains. Great stuff!

I hear what you're saying about the camera cinematography sometimes being cheesy in style.

Sam Raimi's style is on display in his Spider-Man movies, very much reminding fans of Darkman's over the top, cheesy style where he follows a projectile object from the side view as it flies towards its target. He did that with Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness with some of the cheesy stuff. He is a big fan of the Three Stooges.

Early reactions are extremely positive which is a great sign. Here are some comments I found on the 3D.

Quote:
#AntManandtheWasp is so much FUN! Perfect palate cleanser after the emotional rollercoaster & universe sized stakes of #InfinityWar. Action, heart, HUMOR & the first time I can remember enjoying the 3D since... Freddy’s Dead?*♂️ #TheWasp is so great. And these two loved it.
Quote:
#AntManAndTheWasp is another solid MCU film. A surprising plus is that the 3D pairs very nicely w/ the effects, set pieces, and innovative action sequences to deliver a visual feast. It’s also very funny. And @EvangelineLilly steals this movie and then some.
Quote:
Not surprisingly, I loved #AntManAndTheWasp . It's funny and weird and delivers a kind of action that just doesn't exist anywhere else. What's more, it has excellent 3D that works perfectly in tandem with the size changing.
Quote:
#AntManAndTheWasp is a freaking blast! Absolutely hysterical and the effects a incredible!!! Definitely see it in 3D! Also, my fav Stan Lee cameo ever!
We'll probably hear more once the full reviews drop soon.
