Not to nitpick, you’re doing a great job with this list. But, I had The Color Purple ranked #2 on my list.

Yeah I fixed it. To not re-key the entire format I'm quoting previous entries, and switching things around to fit the next entry. I forgot to fix the total votes and highest ranking leftover from #19 TLW.

Rest assured, the tallying is correct.

Need to see The Color Purple. The Lost World is my least-favorite Spielberg movie.

In regards to films not making the top 20, I was kind of surprised that WAR HORSE rated dead last. I thought it was one of his better films of the last decade.....

I was lukewarm when I first saw it in theaters back in 2011, but I watched it again last year and fell in love with the film. Very John Ford-esque.

Haven't seen Color Purple either. Something about sitting through Oprah acting scares me

Yes, Beloved is underrated. The premise is grim so I could see why it would turn a lot of people off. Great cast all around. A Jonathan Demme film.

You know, even for all his lesser films, you gotta give Spielberg credit for his versatility and technical virtuoso.

Hope Raiders makes #1.

E.T. deserves to be last place but I imagine it makes top 5 (I feel like Jaws, Raiders, E.T., Schindler's and Ryan are the top 5, but any permutation is possible).

I have to assume this is due to a general lack of people having seen it. Shame that he got famous for what he got famous for, instead of stuff like than and Duel. I imagine he could have put out all kinds of nasty crime films, especially in the 1990s; with his talents he could have made films that would be talked about beside the likes of Natural Born Killers and The Doom Generation and Gangster No. 1.

Well, I must fundamentally disagree with this. I have never seen the film and never will, but it is literally the film I am least interested of all time, and I know I would hate it (yes, I know this, I am not guessing). I feel like the only reason it exists is to make Infinity War NOT the 2018 film I am least interested in. Also I think Spielberg is at his best when not in feel-good film; I find his feel-good films to be sentimental, pandering, opportunistic garbage - which is annoying enough coming from untalented directors, but is a true shame when very talented men like Spielberg do it. Moreover, I don't think the feel-good aspect has been entirely eviscerated. Even a film like Bridge of Spies COULD have ended on a truly gloomy note, with Abel getting into the car, but instead he shoehorns in the scene at the end with everyone loving Tom Hanks. Very trite ending to an otherwise very good film.

E.T. is awesome. People who don't like it shouldn't be allowed to watch movies.

Amen! Was his Magnum Opus for many years until Shindler's List.

When it comes to Steven Spielberg, the way I see it, it's a fact that even his so-called "less good" films actually are pretty good. Or at least have many aspects that show signs of being in the hands of someone who knows what he's doing.

I still have not seen Ready Player One yet so i could not include it on my list. I have a feeling I will love it though. If it takes me back to the early Spielberg/Lucas films like Super 8 did then Im sure I will love it.

I haven't seen it or the Post yet, so I couldn't place either one of those. I've seen everything else he's directed.
