Just ordered Korean steel book of Seventh Son.

Saw some of it a while back on HBO demand 3D but stopped watching after about 20 minutes. Decided to look into it again. Saw the trailers which looked like fun. Read the old thread and many here felt the bad reviews were unfair and I think Paul even told me to give it a second chance.

Just as I imagine, my kids love this movie and 3D made it that much more entertaining and fun. And since they grew up and knew the characters, it just made it that special especially having it in 3D.

Speaking of 3D, I actually think this was one of the better animation... it was mostly medium to strong and ocassionally really strong. There was many pop outs as well that they used throughout the movie... it was pretty awesome. Wish other animations were this engaging especially Disney ones that barely have any pop outs.

As far as the story goes, I think it was okay. It's geared towards kids but since this was a full length feature, it wasn't that bad. Think of it as the pod racing scene from the Star Wars Phantom Menace and you'll generally get the jist of it. If you know the characters from the kids program, then it would be even better but I think that you'll enjoy even if you didn't know them. If you like animation and 3D, I think it would be worth it to get it since the German version does have English it seems. I was definitely surprised by the 3D in this one.

On that note, the kids want to watch it again in 3D tomorrow night. LOL. I love watching 3D at home and especially the good ones. Nothing beats the experience. I would not have watched this in 2D. 3D makes this movie 100 times better and I'm so surprised why Korea never released this in 3D blu-ray is beyond me.

And if you're going to keep your old Staw Wars movies, then the final arc of Luke & Leia still bears some merit (I think).
I don't think they are doing this as a trilogy anymore.

It looks to me that it is more of an ongoing series with new stories ending and new stories beginning, but no one has been on-board with all three movies to actually architect a trilogy.

Lucas may have had a trilogy in mind when he did the first three, and the second three, but now that it is owned by Disney, expect it to go the way of THE AVENGERS and have big mash-ups with each Star Wars movie trying to top the last.

Someone with a lot less to lose would have to helm three movies in order to actually create a trilogy.

SW is more like LOST now.

Just ordered all three of the Kung Fu Panda series. By the title thought it was for children but after reading up on all three, see that is far from the case. And bluray.com gave them top notches for 3D.

Saw how much individual titles were still selling for, even used, except for Russian and Sri Lanka which I avoid. Got all three UK editions as a package, new for $70 with free shipping. That sound OK?

The Kung Fu Panda series is one of my favorites. The first one is my favorite, but the two sequels are very strong. Some of the best sequels I’ve ever seen. Of course, mileage may vary depending on the viewer, but just my two cents worth. Excellent 3d on all three of them. I really hope you enjoy these.

Man, Amazon has totally made good on my situation. They really pulled through. They dispatched this on Tuesday and it was on my porch since about 12:45 today. I have to commend that, well done!

Since setting up my 3D projector been playing catchup on watching 3D movies

Here's the ones I've watched recently

Hugo
Revisiting on of my first 3D movie purchases, love this movie and the 3D
Doctor Strange
Overall enjoyed the 3D experience
Thor Ragnarok
This was great added a lot. Liked the movie before I saw it in 3D but, found the 3D as one of the best I've seen.
Jurassic World
Not bad but, thought there could have been more
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Overall an enjoyable movie and use of 3D
Justice League
Good use of 3D but, felt it could have been better
Blade Runner 2049
Didn't really seem to add much to the movie maybe because of the dark and muted colors. Seemed to get better in the final act.
House of Wax
Saw this in the theaters in the 80s wasn't didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered.
Gravity
The 3D is great one of the best I've seen

Hi CSM,

Just based on what you added to what I had already read, am positive I will.

Didn't think copies would still be going for such high prices, even used, at least for the first one, being how old it is. Gather all three are still big sellers.

Boy, I imported Beauty and the Beast (2017) 3D based on the glowing reviews many of you posted on this site, and I wholeheartedly agree, it was money worth spent. This may be one of the more robust 3D films in a bit, always trying to portray depth and volume.
Thanks folks!

Watched G-Force 3D with the family, first view.

Maybe I was tired (I was), but the first half of the movie didn't do much for me.

There's not much story here, Mission Impossible with common household pets.

Too bad they couldn't come up with anything more story-wise, very routine stuff.

Later on when the fireworks start (literally), things get more interesting 3D-wise.

The regular framebeak effects do spice things up, which is definitely needed here.

The PQ is really clear and clean, but the color timing is a bit odd.

Faces are often too red (warm), but other scenes are drenched in cold blue. Odd.

The 3D wasn't really that strong overall, I'd probably boost the 3D on a second view.

As someone who collects mainstream 3D movies, still glad to check this one off.

It’s a masterpiece. All the negative reviews I saw just reminded why I should rely on this sight and other like minded people.

I don't think the negative reviews were unwarranted.

While Emma Watson is great to look at on screen, she is a weak singer, and not a terribly good actor.

The CGI and auxiliary characters were all fine and the musical numbers were great. However, they are all almost identical to the original animated classic. Watching this just made me want to re-watch the animated version.

The stand-out performance was from the guy who played Gaston. I didn't know who he was or what to expect, but I think he stole the show.

Fair enough, that’s your opinion, but I disagree. Sure, Emma Watson didn’t blow the doors off with her singing voice, but it was more than capable and never weakened the film for me. Her presence is also strong and she holds the camera’s attention.

If you want a musical performance that really drags a film down, I present Russell Crowe in ‘Les Misérables’.

I liked the live action film MUCH more than the cartoon. It’s one of my top 10 films of all time (most of which are musicals though). I saw it three times at the theater and have seen it at least 10 times since I got it home. I think many people simply don’t like musicals and most remakes of beloved films start off at a disadvantage because they’ll always be compared to the original instead of being viewed as a stand alone film.

But that’s why there are SO many movies bc we all have such differing opinions. I usually find that the movies the critics seem to love, while thought provoking, are films that I’ll watch once and never watch again. You’d probably laugh at my top 10 list but I don’t care. They are the movies I watch over and over again and never get tired of them (ie. Rarely dramas, war movies, or artsy farts movies)!
