I actually liked it more than I expected to.
Talk about unpopular opinion, I think THOR RAGNAROK is the absolute worst MCU movie. Ever.
Just saying that, so you won't feel so alone. I have been there before, buddy.

Not at all. I fell asleep in the theater, as did my 10 year old son! That's never happened to us while watching a Marvel movie, not even close. In fact, I don't think I've ever fallen asleep while watching a movie in a theater. It just didn't grab us at all.

IOW, direct your fire at Marvel's sound people, not Disney's disc producers. (Although I feel reasonably confident the low master volume thing is a new studio policy, in which case: turn it up.)

I noticed during the credits for Infinity War (so presumably the same for other Marvel films) that after it mentioned Skywalker Sound for the mixing and sound etc, it said that the 'Final Sound Mix' (or a similar phrase) was done by Walt Disney Productions/Studios (in California).

Not an expert on sound mixes, so I don't know if this is the norm, but seeing as the discussions in the various Marvel threads had me thinking about the sound mix, my first thought was that Disney must've made the final adjustments to the mix produced by Marvel Studios (like they must have done for Pixar, Lucasfilm etc) which resulted in the issues discussed. Just a thought.

I almost want to drop the whole expanded AR argument if it means Disney will stop gimping the dynamics of their home releases. Like the Holdo maneuver in TLJ, like my heart dropped because it sucks on the home release, there was no texture in sound to what is seen on the screen. In theaters i remember having to hold my toungue so I wouldn’t yell out “Holy sh**!” Lol.

And Black Panther has amazing LFE in theaters. It almost seems like Disney hates home releases allrogether and wants people to dump more money than we already do into the cineplexes we go to.

I wasn't impressed by this movie either. Would've bought for technical merits but might skip the disc especially given the mediocre audio. We'll see.

I really haven't seen all the marvel movies just a few. I have 3 on Blu ray and 2 on 4k. I wanna see this to see why this made so dam much money. I at some point wanna see all the marvel movies. I'm holding out that maybe they will all be released on 4k in the USA.

I had the same reaction to it as 'Wonder Woman'.

I had heard soooo much hype, that when I finally saw it I was like "This is it?"

It's certainly well-made, but maybe my expectations were too high.

It's far better than something like Doctor Strange, but nowhere near the upper echelons of GOTG or CA movies in my eyes.

I loved Black Panther and Thor Ragnorok, both moved pretty quickly. I found the second half of Infinity War very boring. It started off with a bang and fizzled out fast.

What's the deal with Amazon and Marvel/Disney preorders? Amazon announces that they're making Marvel titles on disc an exclusive benefit for Prime members and then they don't allow pre-orders for a title being released next week? I contacted Amazon and they, of course, gave some convoluted excuse about glitches with Black Panther.

LOL Still? How does Amazon go and say "Marvel titles are Prime exclusives" if they're still in a lovers' quarrel? I preordered from Best Buy!

Screw Amazon. I'll walk into a retail store any day of the week before I re-subscribe to Prime in order to buy a simple movie. Amazon is wonderful if you're a Prime member, but if you aren't then they don't give a crap about you.

I'd much rather support a store like Best Buy than give my money to Amazon who will be around forever anyway.

Not at all. I won't go so far as to say "boring", but it definitely underwhelmed and was not good at all from an action standpoint. Especially compared to how effectively Black Panther was utilized in Civil War in sequences like the pursuit of Bucky. There was way too much CGI(and obvious CGI at that) in the action in this film.

Also, the pacing was horrible. The first hour took forever and the main villain has maybe one scene(I think just the one in the museum). Then suddenly he resurfaces, is in Wakanda in the next scene, and is
[Show spoiler]fighting for and ascending to the throne
within a few minutes.

Another thing that disappointed was the score by Ludwig Göransson. His work on Coogler's Creed was amazing. Not so much with Black Panther.

I really liked the score for BP. It's not amazing or anything but I enjoyed it.
