Default Thoughts on 2018 Vizio Models

I'm wondering if anyone has received an M series or even P yet? TCL has released the 6 series already but I'm waiting to pull the trigger so I can compare the models. Vizio's M series has been sale for a couple weeks now but nobody seems to own one yet? No luck looking for reviews or first impressions.

The P Series haven't shipped yet. I believe the same for M.

So in regards to questions on availability of P- and P-Series Quantum, the 55 and 65-inch 2018 P-Series will be available for sale on BestBuy.com at the end of May, in-store at Best Buy in early June and available at VIZIO.com and other retailers mid-June. The 75-inch 2018 P-Series will be available on VIZIO.com and other retailers starting mid-June.

The 65” P-Series Quantum will be available late-June on VIZIO.com and will start to roll out to other retailers shortly after, such as Costco.com and SamsClub.com.

What’s different about the P series this year compared to last years model?

The M series has been on sale on vizios website for some time. When will we see those models in store?

This years M series is useless since it doesn’t have WCG. The onky M that did was the 2017. The P series actually has less zones so I suspect the 2016/2017 will be better. The Quantum looks promising but it sounds like Vizio is moving backwards this year.

Bumped up to 1000 nits but has 26-28 less dimming zones.

The thing that Vizio did was to price the new P series to prices of the M series from last year, and pricing the M series of this year cheaper than the M series from last year. So basically the new P series are the new M series for this year. So if you look it at from a price perspective, this year you’re getting a P series for the price of an M series (which explains why the M series of this year are cheaper but have no WCG). It’s almost like Vizio bumped the names, you get higher quality for the same prices as last year.

Also, I believe the 75” P series version is the one with 120 dimming zones, and from there zones decrement the smaller the TV gets in that line.

So they didn’t go backwards but it seems like they did at first sight since the naming of each series is different now (they bumped the names one over now that their PQ series is their top of the line model instead of the P series).
