We have some really weird people on Blu-ray.com, especially in this thread...

Then go to movies alone or only take dates to movies you've seen already.

(I'm not even disagreeing with the way you feel - I feel the same way while watching movies - but you can't impose your will on social outings.)

If the wrapper is from something sold by the theater, nobody had the right to yell at her!

Yell at ****ing theater management!!!

Most people I see bring food in from local shops, not the actual theater lol

That's pretty funny but to be honest she probably thought you were some weirdo/control freak that was gonna tell how to eat her spaghetti lol...

Sorry dude.....I respect your love and devotion for the art of cinema but I find this a bit harsh (IMHO).

If she's nice then being distracted by her during a movie, play, game, etc. is absolutely worth it. It's hard meeting good people in this world - even as friends - and I wouldn't throw an opportunity out the window by showing her how secondary she is to me right off the bat. Maybe once we have something steady going on I'd explain my passion for film and how I prefer not to be distracted.

You can always go to the theater again by yourself and re-watch a film but you don't always get a second chance to meet someone decent because you made her feel unimportant as soon as you met her.

Again...just my humble opinion

Haha, fair enough then.

But that's what people do now. I saw Ready Player One with a friend. She asked me before the movie if I wanted Subway. I had no idea WTF she was going on about because we weren't meeting for lunch, so I said no. Well, lo and behold, she brought the sub with her into the movie. It didn't disturb me though.

A dating service. Find the film weirdo who has the same weirdo viewing habits as you do and be weird together forever.

Ok so far we have “Don’t touch me or acknowledge me” guy, “never eat around me” guy, and two “subway is good” people.

Take your picks people, slide into those private messages. I want to see some dates come out of this.

I disagree with the sentiment expressed here.. it's just 10 bucks. if I don't like the film, I am reluctant to walk out because I feel like I spent the money and should give it every chance, but if it isn't good enough to keep me awake, then oh well.

I've fallen asleep during Where The Wild Things Are, Tropic Thunder, and at a film festival when watching 10 films over 3 or 4 days.

...and if people want to walk out, I'd say that's fine, too. cut your losses, right? nothing more valuable than time. screw the 10 bucks. if it sucks, it sucks.

Someone on criterionforum (probably will post in this thread too) mentioned they may have already figured out a workaround to the new website / new title situation. Will be very interesting to see if their routine is accurate. God I love the internet sometimes.

Haha, I've never understood the snobbery about Subway...

"But... But... My local delicatessen is so much better. The 'sammiches' are to die for. They melt in your mouth like rich, creamy, imported, organic, grass-fed butter."

Yeah, GTFO with that nonsense. 1. We don't live where you do. 2. Obviously, fast food isn't going to compare to some local mom and pop that's been there since World War I. But Subway is still fast, cheap, and damn tasty for what it is.

(Note: None of this is directed at Snicket or his post - I'm just speaking generally.)

One of my biggest regrets in life is not walking out of the 2nd Transformers movie. God that was horrible.

Haha, that's how I read his post too. I wouldn't blame her. That WOULD sound pretty crazy to most "normal" people. I agree with it in theory, but whatever, no one's perfect, and laying the rules down that way sounds OCD. As long as she isn't one of those monsters that go on their phone during the movie or try to start conversations about unrelated topics during the movie/talk at full volume I can live with it.

Not sure if this means anything but I've been playing around with the filter and sort on Criterion.com:

[Show spoiler]

They're the only ones without cover art. I though they could be Film Struck entries but I checked their pages. They're placeholders.
