Screenshot scientist outrage. Braveheart looks pretty damn good. Some of the cinematography can be on the softer side while other shots wow, but this is the best it has ever looked and likely ever will look. The HDR is also nicely done without being overstated.

It looks bizarre and unnatural to me. I saw this effect numerous times throughout the film which seemed bizarre. The hdr grade of gladiator looked fantastic with appropriate brilliance to candle and torche lights. |

Glad I make up my own mind about PQ and AQ otherwise this and other threads on this site would downright confuse the shit out of me. I always found it odd when I see a bunch of reviews and people saying "oh my, 5/5" and then some others come in here saying "not worth it" or "barely any difference"...especially when judging on stupid caps. Wish that trend would just die

But it's not s***ing on a release indiscriminately guys. Each disc is analysed by the members here and praise comes hand in hand with criticism - Pros and cons.
AV presentation fascinates me, be it good or bad. Especially with a new format like UHD. Delving into the technical aspects of things seldom detracts from my enjoyment of the film unless something is seriously FUBAR. It's another facet of the movie to discuss, just as you'd pick apart strong or weak performances, the score or cinematography etc. I guaran-f***ing-tee you that nearly everyone here has bought or is going to buy this release and it'll be their go-to version to watch in future. It looks awesome. Doesn't mean it can't be flawed though. What's the harm in acknowledging a weird frame or two or five? ![]() |

![]() ![]() I'd never want anyone to pass on a release based on this stuff. From my perspective - if a release is better than the one that preceded it, then all's well in the world. |
