Thanks for the warning. I was hesitant to see this even though I like King Arthur and medieval history in general. I'll just keep avoiding it now.

Though I like it and would rank it as my fifth favorite Star Wars movie, Rogue One is starting to become extremely overrated, especially since The Last Jedi came out. Before I saw the movie, I was more excited to see it than I was for The Force Awakens. It looked gritty and incredible. And while it was gritty and had some great cinematography, the characters were one-dimensional, the score was sub-par, and the pacing was all over the place.

It’s still a good movie, but I question those who say it’s the only good Disney Star Wars movie because it makes me think they value action and spectacle over a coherent story and character development that can truly lead to jaw-dropping moments.

Also, yes, I can probably catch a lot of fish with the can of worms I just opened.

Agree. Rogue One is average.

What about the style of his many imitators?

Was Troy Duffy a Tarantino rip-off or a Richie rip-off (a rip-off of a rip-off?)?

I don't like comic book movies, tried to watch that first Avengers one and I switched it off after 10 minutes. Just can't get into them, I've tried with other ones too but I just find them boring. More power to you though if they are you're thing, we're all different.

I don't really like the newer Die Hard movies. I mean, Die Hard and Die Hard 2 were okay I enjoyed them, but the rest that followed I truly disliked. I don't find them as good.

I find Cate Blanchett to be average at best, sans her performances in Babel and Notes on a Scandal.

I think the most unpopular part of your UO is referring to the original as "okay".....

I've only seen it once, but I remember thinking Sally Hawkins got the better of her in that one, maybe I need to give it a rewatch.

everyone was so good in that film.... even Andrew Dice Clay had a really good moment towards the end where he meets up again with Blanchett.

I agree that NOTES ON A SCANDAL is one of her best performances as well

Yeah I was worried about that, which is why I held back any TLJ judgement. Because I feel like there's a 50/50 split on TLJ based on how people react to the film. I wouldn't know which side was the unpopular one.

Never hold back, your opinion is your own and should never be swayed by others.

For example.

I thought the original Blade Runner was tosh when I re-watched it. I'll get burned at the stake for that one

In that case I loved TLJ, even though it's got flaws, like all movies do. I don't understand most of the hate, but some hate is reasonable for differing opinions, since some provide detail and reasoning.

I've tried to watch The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey a few times and I just can't get into it. I watch a few minutes of it and start looking for something to read. I really liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I haven't bothered to try the other Hobbit movies. I wanted to see the Hobbit movies to just see how they made nine hours of films out of a short book.

What a refreshingly unpretentious, non-hostile expression of opinion. Quite a rarity, especially when it comes to comic book movies. And incidentally, we disagree.

I prefer the DCEU over the MCU. I didn't grow up reading comics, so it's not a DC versus Marvel character thing. I just think the DCEU movies are better and more re-watchable.

I wish Zach Snyder was still involved in the DCEU, as I thought he was doing a great job and his passion for the project was obvious on film and behind the scenes. I'm really excited to see what James Wan does with Aquaman, as I think he is a great director.

My opinion may hold no value since I like the Hobbit Trilogy more than The Lord of the rings, but The Desolation of Smaug is(in my opinion) worth a watch.
