I have noticed a lot of the theaters in my area randomly started doing reserved seating. Do you guys think this is to mess with movie pass people? Its basically made me stop going to the theaters all together since my family normally only goes to theaters spontaneously and none of us see a point in going if we are going to get crap seats.

I'm sure it depends on your location and when you go, but it hasn't really affected me at all. Since they started with it, I think the most seats that have ever been reserved before I bought my ticket (usually 5 minutes before showtime) was 18. |

The way reserved seating works around me is all AMCs are reserved seating for every screen. Kinda annoying IMO, they started with IMAX screens and luxury seats being reserved (which makes more sense), but switched to everything about a year and a half ago, so not related to MP. It has on a couple occasions pushed me to pay out of pocket vs MP since I could see on Fandango a lot of seats were already taken and I risked either a sell out or terrible seats if I waited.
Though with other chains it's just for luxury seating (n/a for IMAX since those are all at AMCs). |

My local cinema has 84 movie showings on Sunday. Only 18 of them are reserved seating. Of those 18, 5 are IMAX and 3 are Real 3D. And all of the 18 showings are for either Solo or Deadpool. Basically, they only do reserved seating for premium showings or for new blockbusters within the first few weeks. Avengers had reserved seating for the first few weeks it was out.
1. I don't think it has anything to do with MoviePass. 2. I love reserved seating. I can show up to a movie right before it starts on a busy weekend. |

The photo taking is random. That’s all I can say.

MP only has about 3m subscribers anyway. And I believe the avg. monthly movie theater attendance is something like 36-40 million people in the USA see a movie each month... No conspiracy against movie pass lol |

Reserved seating is a new thing in my area, within the last year. I find it annoying.

Reserved seating is cool if you're buying tickets normally, but it totally sucks with Moviepass. Actually, I'm not a huge fan of reserved seating either way. I have anxiety issues and really sensitive hearing, so I don't like having someone sit really close to me (unless the theater is packed full, of course, then it's expected). If annoying people sit directly next to you in a regular theater you can move, you're stuck with reserved seating. Like when I saw Justice League and sat next to a guy with a severe cold who coughed through the whole movie.

I have a few friends who tease me about having so much money to see all those movies and all I do is remind them about movie pass by taking out the card and showing them what 10 bucks a month got me! |

Toys R Us is going out of business but won't close its doors to all stores until all the inventory in the warehouses nationwide are exhausted. Usually, store closings are no more than two months after being announced. iHeartRadio streaming is bankrupt. but still operating. And Movie Pass gave them a promotional boost. The point is: sign up and enjoy it. Everything ends even life. Take advantage of what makes the world fun otherwise what is the point of living? |
