To put things in perspective -if- the NPD numbers I have found are correct (and also to find some positive )


PS3 sales
2007: 2.558.000
2008: 3.545.100 +38%

360 sales
2007: 4.619.000
2008: 4.733.000, +2 %


of course, Wii sales:

2007: 5.966.000
2008: 10.151.000, +70%

The PS3 was a hundred dollars more expensive most of 2007 than 2008 though. To be fair though, the 360 got a price drop too and didn't really pick much up over the year. But it did have Halo3 though. The Wii was supply constrained, and it seems this December that it still is.

PS3 was doing great as of the end of august:

Jan - August Numbers:
PS3: 2,019,000
360: 1,742,000


... and by Oct it was neck and neck with the price cut....

PS3: 2,441,000
360: 2,460,000

... And then the 360 simply sprinted ahead in the biggest selling season of the year.

This is top 10 game sales for the year? How come MGS4 isn't in there? It's sold over 3 million already if I remember right.
