PS3 Hate Boils Over, Fanboy "Journalists" Embarrass The Industry

I'm watching the thread, if it boils over people can expect suspensions, I have given enough warnings about 360 talk in this section.

The reason I am allowing it in this thread is that it is pretty much unavoidable.

I think the Wii would hold it's own in a good tumble. I actually saw a show where some guys did their best to destroy all threes consoles. The 360 gave up early in the game..... the PS3 withstood a good bit more abuse... they ended up doing some really harsh stuff to the Wii to make it reach a point where it would no longer power up.

Any idea where there's a video of that?

I remember watching Morgan Webb from X-play do that with last gen's consoles, and they seriously couldn't make the Gamecube fail, even after dropping bricks on it.

The PS2slim is pretty frail, well mine is, but my old PS2Phat is probably made out of old boots it's so tough!

i dont agree with it.

Had they chosen one or the other, and put less features in, the ps3 wouldn't be known for what it is today.....a high end multimedia gaming machine. sony ( well ken kutaragi) took a chance and its already starting to pay off with blu-ray.

Had they made the ps3 anything less than what it is now, it would just be another regular game console......like the 360.

Yeah, the Gamecube is probably the toughest console ever built. I remember watching a video where some guys threw it out of a building and then dragged it around on the ground with their pick-up. The only thing that broke was the lid.

No way. PS3 without Cell would be much the same console it is today, especially in regards to media capabilities.

I hate to break it to you, but the PS3 isn't some special console head and shoulders above the rest. Yes it is more powerful, and yes the Cell has a lot left in the tank, but if PS3 had launched without it I don't think many people would have noticed.

I'm all for singing praises about the PS3, it's a great console, but it has got deficiencies, and launch price is without a doubt the biggest.

Also....just as an aside. Videogame systems were always the ONE thing we could count on growing up. Computers broke down, pocket games didn't work sometimes and tape decks were a DRAAAAAAAG. Other than having to blow into your Nintendo game once in a while, you could always count on gaming in at least 5 or 6 minutes. The fact that a large percentile of XBOX 360 owners have to live in paranoid fear of their VIDEOGAME system crashing is just sad and unholy. Quite Frankly, it is UnAmerican and places a black mark on our great history as producers and manufacturers and designers. Microsoft has yet another thing to be ashamed of in my book.

Takahashi has written two books about Microsoft, including “The Xbox 360 Uncloaked: The Real Story Behind Microsoft’s Next-Generation Video Game Console.” In it, he references internal sources and documents that show Microsoft knew the console had problems — but launched it anyway.

Yet more proof...what gets me most about Microsoft, is people know damn good and well their products are shoddy, spends god-knows-how-much money on marketing to convince people they want it even though it's crap...and they still buy the crap anyway. People amaze me.

You know, i knew about that for awile and i wanted to post a story about it. it was with a guy who actually works for MS. i wanted to post it in the many ps3 vs 360 threads, but then i would be called a fanboy, and a liar, so it wasn't worth it.

Bottom line, they launched the 360, even though they knew it had problems, because they wanted to beat sony to the market first. like they REALLY wanted to, they said they'll deal with the problems later. and so they did.
