Default How Long Does it Take For a Post to be Displayed?

Hi There,

I made a few posts yesterday afternoon in the Blu-ray PC category, but none of my posts have been displayed. When I made my posts, it said a moderator must first approve my posts before they will be visible. Does anyone know typically how long this takes?

Thank you!

My posts are now visible. But below my posts, another post by a moderator was made saying approved. Does this mean the first few posts by a user must be approved to make sure the user isn't here to spam, and once that person is proven to be an a rule-abiding member, that person's posts will be displayed automatically?

Quite possible. I don't remember how my first posts went. But normally a post appears immediately. I'm sure your new posts are that way now

This meaningless string of words for instance, the same in all his posts so far by the way, will probably get him kicked out.

a few of my posts have said "a moderator must first approve your posts before they will be visible" it depends on the section of the forum im posting in and those posts that needed to be approved never showed up..

I've had the same problem too. In the Home theater general discussion. It let me post one about a logitech remote then it won't go anymore. I was trying to answer further questions but who knows?.....

Edit: Shows now maybe because I was a new member?

I'm new today too and had the same thing happen - it's probably (hoping anyways) to keep out the hit-n-run sp@mmers.

when you are a new member, and you make a post containing a 'link' in the message, that post needs approval from a moderator. This is to prevent spamming.

Also new members starting threads may need approval.

All my posts, links or not, outside of this sub-forum, have to be moderated. Really hope this will go away in 10 posts. It takes as much as a week for my posts to be approved, and I can't imagine how many posts the admins have to look at and approve every day. This is a good way of doing things??

Also, this thread really needs to be a sticky, since I don't see this info anywhere else. I'm sure I'm overlooking it, but wow, where is the new member info?

Ok, so it's confirmed: 10 posts to get past moderation. In other words, make 10 posts in this section, then you can post in the rest of the forum.

Also new here. I didn't see the info about this, except in this thread either. I looked through the email I received, then the FAQ, and then found this thread. Sort of useful info to know.

I posted a reply in the hot deals section a day or so ago, and it still hasn't been posted. Useless now, as someone already posted the deal. Then I tried to post in the trading section. Also denied. I don't feel like spamming 10 posts, so I guess I'll just put up with this for a while.

I retract that statement. This is post 10. I hope I can post normally after this. I know that rule is in effect for some good reason, but it seems a bit lame to me. Oh well.
