So dumb... why is Best Friends Vol 2 a Premium screening when it is the exact same price as all other adult tickets?!

Some times Movie Pass will consider a movie a special event even without a ticket surcharge. Another example right when I got my card last year was the Close Encounters re-release (a nationwide thing) was blocked out in the app even when in regular screens.

Because it's a Fathom Events presentation which MP cannot be used on. And your theatre must be lucky because all the showings of it around here are $3.50 more than the standard 2D movie.

The June 1st showings were available for me. As were the 50th Anniversary screenings of The Producers.

Weird. No Fathom Events have ever been available to me on MP, when others have said the opposite.

I just checked, and Best F(r)iends is blocked but other Fathom showings have been allowed. There seems to be no consistency with that, considering this as well as classic screenings are $12.50, cheaper than the regular $15+ new release tickets (only thing they never have allowed are Fathom broadcasts of Plays, but those are $20 and thus do involve a surcharge).

It depends on how the theater loads the pricing of the movie. My closest AMC prices most Fathom events at the same price as a regular ticket and it isn't marked with premium tag so I can see them there. Another one which is a Dine In theater and a bit further away does add a premium and I can't see any there.

Punch to what insane cash burn rates literally movie pass needs 10+million subscribers to begin to survive, or to start being able to command the attention from theaters for concessions on splits/ cuts...

Idk if they'll do it so far everyone I know signing up is actually gonna go and sue the program so Idk how that works in MPs favor for the short term.

They either need lots of people who pay but don't go enough, or soooooo many people they can start to bend theaters/ studios to their will a bit , or sell data analytics on all teh customers they're collecting since thats what the parent company does lol or some combo of all 3.

Either way if you're a risky gambler on stocks HMNY could pay off hugeeee

I'm still having issues submitting a stub pic through the MoviePass app. How frustrating. The support ticket has supposedly been escalated. They told me to pay for tickets myself in the meantime, and they'll reimburse me, but I haven't tried this yet.

Someone here did a breakdown on how to fix it, but it's probably several pages back by now. It worked for me.

If I recall, you basically go into your App Manager, turn off allowances for photo and video through MoviePass. Then when you go back into the app and it prompts you for photo, it will ask if you allow photos and videos. Once you re-allow it, it will work fine. I only had to do this once, not every time I submit a stub.

A movie started late so I left and got a refund. How does MoviePass handle this? Will I never be able to see this movie now because it's now on my list of watched movies? Do I have to call them up?

You probably shoulda just gotten a raincheck or something instead of a refund because yeah you will probably have to resort to attempting to wrangle their customer service now if you want to see the movie (and who knows if they'll let it slide if you can even get ahold of them in the first place)

No, I refunded it back to the MoviePass card. So they should know, right?

They also took my ticket stub, so to get out of the photo request screen I wrote down that I got a refund as the reason why I don't have the ticket.

Call them and explain it, maybe they can reverse the blackout on that movie. Going foward, tell the staff that you have MoviePass and request a readmit pass.

I found a chat option on the app so we'll see how that goes. It says, "Please hold while the next agent is assigned to your request." Then eventually someone types hi to me, and nothing after after that, even when I restate my issue. Unless that's not an agent and just another automated response.

App chat person says the movie was recorded in the system as redeemed so they can't change it. I tried calling customer service, but they keep telling me their volume of calls is huge so they disconnect me. I found an email for customer service escalation so we'll see what happens there.

I was unaware of the readmission pass.
