Very cool to announce Texas Chainsaw Massacre TNG. So this goes to show that they CAN release a Sony film with the CE treatment. Wonder why they didn't do Brainscan that way? Maybe the lack of willing participants? Flynn is dead and Furlong is...where is Furlong? Jail?

Well, TCM III JUST came out on blu from Warner Archive, so them releasing it would be totally unnecessary.

It also looks like Scream Factory is kind of, sort of denying that they have TCM III, at this time.

Pretty sure they will not rerelease TCM 3: Leatherface. It just came out through WAC, and though no one seems to acknowledge it, they do great transfers. Unless they get the first one and want to make a box set out of it...

TCM III should have been released on Scream. Hell every Texas Chainsaw movie should be a CE on Scream. At least IMO.

Just got word that the Summer of Fear Sale is back and live now. Some ok discounts this week. Sale Runs June 4th - June 18th. $50 threshold to get free shipping though. I'd post a more formal link/comment but I'm at work at the moment.

My first thoughts too after seeing the announcement today. Still makes me wonder what happened to Piranha II: The Spawning? Oh well if we can CE's of Sony titles let me do the honours guys: Candyman CE Candyman CE Candyman CE Candyman CE.........CANDYMAN CE!!!

Well, I struck out for September other than my order of Never Hike Alone Friday the 13th fan film. I hope October has something from Scream for me in it (though I do have the Kino stuff that month).

TCM: TNG is a very cool announcement, but I’m not going to get my hopes up for the “extended version.” I just feel like, more often than not with Scream, if they announce the title and say that they’re “still looking into” the alternate cut of a film, they typically don’t end up finding it. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I just posted this in the Film's main thread so this is a cross post but the Canadian DVD released by Lionsgate was of the full uncut version of the film. I'll be shocked if we don't end up with the uncut version in some fashion. It may not be a fresh scan, but I believe that through a release print or possibly even inserts we'll end up with the uncut version being included.

If Texas Chainsaw Massacre TNG can get a CE, I hope the Jaws sequels especially 3 and 4 will get similar treatment. I would love a commentary from the producer to find out what they were thinking when they made the sequels.

why? the remastered Dark Sky blu-ray of the original is amazing and has cool packaging

The extended Version has already been announced on Blu Ray by the German company Nameless Media, who also brought us the unrated Evil Dead remake. So there is definitely an HD master for the extended cut of TCM4.

In addition I would also like to see the 55-minute Making of TCM 4 - The Documentary, which is essential.

So if Scream does not manage to get the extended cut there will an alternative.

By the way, Warner's TCM3 Blu Ray is botched, so a new transfer without the halo and new extras would be great too.

Are you sure the extended cut in the Nameless Media release will be HD?

I doublechecked and have to report that I was wrong. It turned out that the extended version is only included in SD on the Nameless Medi Blu Ray. But I am quite sure that it was initially announced as being in HD.

Weird. Just found this on Youtube and the back of the package says the uncut version is HD (at 2:35)
