That seemed obvious and I’m not sure why that should piss people off. A side quest is better than actual story mission being cut out like Ubisoft did with an Assassins Creed game years ago

If they can sell them to you later in the games lifespan, they will. There are plenty of games with pre-order exclusives that eventually get released to everyone. Pretty sure Akrham City or Arkham Knight had some.

I don't like it either, just make a game with the same content for everyone, whether you pre-order or not. Deluxe editions with virtual items should be approached cautiously. It all sounds good before the game comes out, but eventually you realise you paid extra for pretty much nothing.

In that thread they also defend the collector’s box not including the game by saying it’s like that so that people who buy the physical or digital copy can also get the box. I decided to just go with the standard copy from Best Buy while I can still pre-order with 20% off (before GCU’s impending death).

That's the difference, though. These missions aren't tied to pre-orders. They are specifically tied to the more expensive versions of the game. I can see why this upsets people, however minor said content may be in the grand scheme of things. On the other hand, it does help those who decide to wait for the first wave of reviews to hit before purchasing a game, for those missions will still be available once the game is out.

Now don't get me wrong, I personally don't care because I long ago decided to buy whatever would end up being the biggest version. I just think that, as you said, it would be better if it were the same thing for everyone across the board.

Indeed. I don't mind the Collector's Box at all. I never buy digital, but I decided to do it this time simply because I refuse to give Gamestop my money and I don't trust the Rockstar Warehouse with delivering the actual game on time. As long as I can play on release day, I could give a shit about the Collector's Box arriving late.

All 3 versions were up on the US Playstation Store as well as the Rockstar Warehouse website at the time of my post. I'd know considering I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition about 20 seconds before made said post.

As I said above the the store on PS4 didn’t update on my end. It now has all 3 bs tiers of payment, including the locked story content behind paywall edition.

If Rockstar doesnt do anything else for RDR2 before release, it'll do perfectly fine. GTAV still makes alot of money and is still selling alot of new copies each month, so no they shouldnt give up on it
