Gods Of Egypt - Not a great movie, but visually stunning in 3D. It was on sale so took a shot and bought it.

I'd seen Upside Down in 2D before but had held off watching the 3D version on account of the bad reviews for mild 3D. Well yes, it was mild but it wasn't like an autoconversion or anything, there was sufficient depth and separation to really transform the film visually. All the special effects scenes worked so much better in 3D - the visuals in this film demand the third dimension and while I would have liked some pop-out, I still had plenty of eye-candy to keep me happy.

Gravity I did see theatrically in 3D. At home I noticed the pop-outs more, but really for a film of this budget there should have been more of them and they should have been stronger. You'd think objects floating in space would actually float in space more but no, they are mainly kept behind the screen. That's my biggest disappointment with the movie, right from the opening shot. The CGI spacesuits seemed a bit more obvious this time around too, but otherwise the home experience matched the theatrical experience, when the set pieces kick in it's just mind-blowing. All the first-person shots impressed as well, my fear of heights kicked in a few times with that unmistakeable tingle all the way down to my toes. Now that's entertainment!
Upside Down was one of my first and favorite 3D films. The entire storyline utilizes 3D Sinai can’t imagine seeing it any other way. I would DEFINITELY call it week. In fact, I thought it was quite effective and though the physics is a little non-sensical I LOVE that it is a romantic comic (rare) with good 3D (even more fair). Took me a while to find a slipcover for it tough. I’ve probably watched it 10 - 12 times. Like you said, pop-outs aren’t needed for effective 3D and seem almost inappropriate for a drama/love story anyway!

Just had a big splurge on used 3D titles at musicmagpie on their 2 for £5 offer. I've bought from them before and they've always been pretty much as good as new.

Resident Evil: Afterlife
Bait
The Great Gatsby
ParaNorman/Coraline Double pack
R.I.P.D.
Monster House
Hugo
TT: Closer to the Edge

Common even for U.S. titles let alone other countries. You can select the option to add another country/version. If in fact the one shown for Germany is the 3d version (from the cover on Amazon.de and on this site I can't tell if they are the same), you can add 3d to the spec.

The German edition of Twixt includes the original version of the film which features two short scenes in real 3D but for the majority of the runtime it's flat 2D.

I don't believe there is a German blu-ray edition that only includes the 2D version.

I've had this on my Amazon wishlist for quite a while now. It's only $9.39 right now brand new. Maybe I will go ahead and spring for it.

Just got The Last Jedi and Coco 3D in the Mail the other day - don’t remember enjoying TLJ very much, but 3D defiantly changes things. The audio left a lot to be desired and I found myself having to turn the volume up a lot louder than usual, but the 3D was stunning. I’ve now ordered the 3D collectors addition of The Force Awakens and Black Panther 3D which I’ve heard is right up there with Thor Ragnarock’s conversion quality.

Like a bad student film.

The two 3D sequences are very well done, but they amount to only a few minutes.

I thought I recalled you saying that you loved Beauty and the Beast's 3d. Now it's inappropriate?

I just watched Pacific Rim in 3D for the first time, and I have to say I was disappointed. The site review unabashedly sang its praises as a top-notch conversion, but I found the 3D almost entirely mild, with a smattering of medium shots and only a few truly strong 3D moments. I took my glasses off at several points, and the picture looked almost identical to its 2D counterpart, lacking separation despite the compositions practically begging for more depth. Also, many shots were ideal candidates for pop-outs, but the transfer didn't sport a single one. I won't be revisiting this one.

There is no way that Pacific Rim could be labelled mild 3D.

If your black levels suck and you have your tv setup for the right kind of preference, it’s entirely possible to make it appear mild.

Finally got around to watching Independence Day: Regurgence. Sigh. It could have been something, but...it almost was. 3D was mostly mild, but it sure started strong for a minute or so.
