I think this season is great so far and better than anything TWD has had for 2 or 3 seasons. I like Madison but not as the focal point, so I'm OK with how it's going so far. I really like Strand and I like the new characters a lot so I was OK with Nick getting killed.

I was extremely annoyed by all the commercial breaks tonight. It seemed like it was 3mins of show, 10mins of commercials--rinse, repeat. Unreal. Since next week is the mid-season finale already, I'm hoping they explain Madison's absence and not leave us hanging until the show comes back.

Well to be fair, from a writing and even logic perspective, tonight's episode was stupid beyond the extreme.

What?? you mean, having Alicia and Nick sit in their running car, while they see the heard coming, and then overtaking them... only to have Alicia radio Madison after the fact that the herd was too thick they couldn't drive through them wasn't the best writing??? /sarcasm

I'm only reading this thread to see what I've been missing. Nothing could be dumber than what they were doing near the end of Season 2, which is why I quit watching (this is the only show in my 40+ years of watching television, that I quit watching midseason).

You guys mean this show has gone even dumber? What's dumber than going full retard?

I care more about the future progression than I do the connecting of the dots. Once something happens (he who shall not be named), then I don't really care about the lead up. After 30minutes into last nights episode, I'm thinking, do I have to watch the next 30? I agree with the writer in that I would like to see how exactly they went from the dam to the stadium. It could be a double edged sword, as I don't want to see a season's worth it if, but I would like to see how exactly the group got back together... and how exactly Nick survived.

It needs more than just Strand saying three sentences about how Madison found him and the rest of the group.

Season 3 was so good. Why would you change show-runners after such a great season? To put Gimple in charge was a huge mistake. The guy ruined one show, why let him ruin another?

The guy (Dave Erickson) stepped down after AMC gave him a bigger deal to do more at AMC. Not sure what though - but it sounded like a promotion.

What an utter travesty they wanted to ruin a stand alone show and bring it forward to negan-ize it. I have been watching this thread for a while to decide if I wanted to get on board, with a healthy chunk of back episodes to watch, and I'm thinking no....

My wife and I marathoned seasons 1-3 over the past month or so. I had heard good things and with nothing else going on, we gave it a go.

I liked all three seasons, I think season 3 was fantastic... then the tonal shift to season 4 was jarring, but I don't mind the time jumps... I've said it before, it reminds me of LOST in a way. (the time jumps, not the questions upon questions LOST served up).

That article does make some valid points but hopefully the mid-season finale and back half of the season can do a good job of making things right. Would be a shame for this show to go down the toilet after season 3 was so good and it now being better than TWD

I love it when we get neat attack/defense strategies employed in these Walking Dead shows. The siege on, and subsequent fallout, of the stadium is just awesome stuff.
Looking forward to what the mid season finale has in store.

Do you also like Alicia shooting small arms fire at an armored tank wasting ammo? Or Alicia and Nick leaving the compound to “rescue” an enemy and then sit in the car while (for no reason) walkers surround them? Now walkers attack cars for no reason. I can go on and on. The retardness and terrible writing was everywhere last episode.
