Can someone who owns this movie and the second one in blu-ray 3D comment on the 3D itself. Wondering if I should add these 2 movies to my collection?

I actually have allot of these from HK that haven bought yet because I can’t find info on the 3D aspect of them: Dark Flight, Second Sight and Baby Blues, along with both 3AM are sitting of my shopping cart, while I’m undecided.

I know each is an anthology of three horror stories. Even if the 3D is on par, not sure if three to six short stories would be enough to make the discs a keeper after a once look over.

All of those modern Thai films have very nice, similar-looking native 3D. Much better than what we see in most Hollywood conversions. I've watched 3 AM 1&2 and The Second Sight. They're silly, low budget horror movies but still tolerable and fairly entertaining. I'd recommend them for people who love 3D photography.

Glad to know about the 3D on these three. I ordered them earlier today with Baby Blues and Dark Flight, all 3D from Hong Kong.

Hi bleed,

Thanks for letting us know. That's what I meant by a once over as far as for myself. Watch once, enjoy the 3D and the campy stories and then they stay on the shelf.

I watched 3 A.M. 3D last night - I always like it when you see 3D as part of the title on screen, it indicates that 3D is not going to be just an afterthought.

Anyway, from the credits sequence through all three stories, the native 3D is good. It's got that digital look but the production values are fairly high, with plenty of pop-outs and attractive depth. The third story perhaps isn't as strong 3D-wise or story-wise as the the other two but it's still a lot of fun. I must get around to watching the second one now...

I watched 3 A.M. 3D Part 2 last night, the scope ratio made it look a lot more cinematic than the first one but overall I felt it was weaker and harder to follow (both my wife and I were a little confused at the end of the third story) - I preferred the separation between stories in the original rather than the wraparound employed here.

The 3D didn't feel quite as strong either but that may just be down to the wider ratio - being native it still beats anything coming out of Hollywood at the moment, with impressive depth and layering and a fair bit of natural pop-out.

This was the last English-friendly native 3D live-action movie I had left to watch and it was a lot of fun, even the bad CGI shots (of which they aren't too many), but that's the transformative power of good 3D...

Wow, the 3D in the trailer above has a range of mostly medium to some strong 3D layering, with strong 3D pop outs. They definitely cared about the 3D quality when making the film, and while the effects are amusing, they blend well with the stereo 3D, unlike some low budget CGI, which doesn't match the 3D depth of the live action.

Default 3 A.M. part 3

There's a third part now, but I can't find any mention of it being in 3D, which is a shame:

Yes, I think it's 2D only this time.
