The SDCC announcements will be for November, December and (in part) beyond, depending on how many they announce. That said, it's possible they might still announce a couple of things for November and December after the event. It's rare but the second Naschy collection was one such example, and 2015 had a few.

You are so correct so.

I saw Drag Me to Hell at Best Buy and finally picked it up.

I haven't seen this movie since its release, but it's solid. Anybody who has ever struggled with an eating disorder will relate to it in a special way.

Lots of predictions for October and ComicCon out there; this will potentially be their biggest year. Very exciting. But the more I think about it, the less likely a new ANoES set seems. It appears Sony is holding on to bigger horror films. With Christine getting the 4K treatment, I'm sure Candyman is not far behind. I can see Warner doing the same thing in keeping their bigger properties at home. Shout has yet to announce something huge through Warner. We all want Critters, but let's face it--it's not huge. If it was, it already would've been given some attention by them, most likely. Warner must feel as though it's not up to the standards of their big properties. That being said, I still think Creepshow is coming.

Just give me He Knows You're Alone, Deadly Friend, The Hand and The World, the Flesh and the Devil and I'll be happy.

I agree, I don't think ANoES set will be coming from Scream this year. I have a feeling, much like yourself, that the October boxset will be Critters, and then I'd be surprised if they announced AnoES at SDCC since that would make it a November, December release, which wouldn't really make sense. I guess they could announce it really early, in anticipation of Fall 2019, but that would be pretty bizarre. Better to announce that one around this time next year if it's coming. And I'd rather they took the extra time to do it right, it would surely require some time to put together.

The apparent leaker from a while back said that Warner were holding on to their Wes Craven stuff. Who knows if he was correct (he did intimate that Candyman was with Scream, which looks unlikely at this point), but I will speculate this: if Deadly Friend isn't announced for October or at SDCC, I really don't think Scream have it, and I'll have to question why that is, given it's a frequently requested title, and undoubtedly one of the first titles they would have sought in the deal (that and ROTLD II were surely the biggest of the 'new' titles, there's not many with that kind of CE potential).

It's popular enough that it's being rebooted as a TV Series. Which would be a great tie-in and the movies regularly go on sale on iTunes, which makes me think there is a large enough audience.

They've amassed a cult following over the years. I'd love to have the series on Blu. As I've mentioned before, I know someone acquainted with the production of Critters 2, and he (or she) has confirmed that both 1 and 2 will be getting a Blu-ray treatment in the near future. The Critters series fits nicely with the Scream label, I think.

That still doesn't rule it out, but I can't help but think that Scream have exhausted their current deal with Universal, and with the Sony and WB agreements there's no real need for them to go back to the table any time soon.

Well, rules them out for this year at least, and the fact that they were denied these titles once already leads me to believe it's probably never going to happen. Plus, like you are saying, they have much more to work with now that Warner & Sony gave them deals.

Well there's only so many Warner and Sony titles... might be that in the next 12-18 months they're forced to look again at possible Universal titles - Child's Play sequels, Jaws sequels, American Werewolf in London, Dead Silence, etc.

I would buy the Dead Silence SF CE in a second! I'd take some Jaws Sequels also.

Like someone else has already stated, I would think Scream was given a list of Warner and Sony titles, with titles that were available, as well as titles the studios wanted them to acquire and release. Pending sales, further deals with better titles might be available at a later date. This is how I see ANOES being acquired, if it ever does--by a future deal with Warner. Maybe at some point they will ink a new deal with Universal.

Jaws 2 at least deserves a nice CE. It's nowhere near the level of the original but it's a worthy sequel IMO. 3 and 4 are more like caricatures and I'm not sure I want special editions for them but I would like the films to receive, at minimum, fresh scans. Great PQ can make even turds shine (sometimes)

Does Sony still own the rights to The Boogeyman? Imagine a remastered collector's edition from Scream Factory? I wouldn't even hate release to see them release a Boogeyman Trilogy with the original slasher classic and the two (godawful) sequels, Boogeyman 2 and Return of the Boogeyman, just for competists sake.

Candyman, Happy Birthday to Me, and When a Stranger Calls would be amazing. And I'd love if they could grab When a Stranger Calls... Back! from Universal as well. Maybe even the remake too, I remember liking it a lot.

An Urban Legend trilogy set would also be rad. Same goes for a Hostel trilogy with all the various cuts of those three movies.
