Just wondering what the next release could be after Police Story 1 & 2 in August?
If Eureka have struck a deal with FS in releasing these HK classics it could be any of the ones mentioned in the FS announcement trailer. We've already had the Bruce Lee collection, Drunken Master, Story Of Ricky, Armour Of God and the forthcoming Iron Monkey.
So that only leaves:

A Better Tomorrow
Police Story 3
Once Upon A Time In China 1-3
Once Upon A Time In China And America
Dr Wai in Scriptures With No Words
A Chinease Ghost Story
Running Out Of Time 1&2
The Adventurers
Black Mask 1&2
The Cannonball Run
Battle Creek Brawl
City Hunter
Wheels On Meals
Project A 1&2

I pray we get the Jet Li 'Once Upon A Time In China' Films next but honestly I'll take anything from that list! (Even Black Mask 2!!!)

Armour Of God was released last year by UK label Mediumrare.

Poor Battle Creek Brawl was shown in last year's Fortune Star restoration reel and has yet to be released anywhere... I'm in that odd minority of people who didn't mind the movie at all. The Korean NOVA release dropped the ball by using the old upscaled version. Oh well.

The quality was very good but for some reason the bluray was released with little fan fare.

Battle Creek Brawl is excellent. Probably Clouse's best post-Enter movie. Great score as well. The current Shout! blu ray makes me want to weep. Horrendous.

Running out of Time would be good, but I doubt it. I was kind of hoping Eureka would release more Johnnie To, especially as Mad Detective was well received, but alas not.

City Hunter has been released already. It's advisable to get the HK Kam & Ronson release, not the US Shout! Factory double release (with Battle Creek Brawl in upscale) which has horrible problems due to compressing movies into same disc (EDIT2: Which is kind of odd because both releases have about same size and bitrate, so it's not about compressing a movie to fit the disc, they just botched the transfer somehow).

EDIT: And as far as I understand, both Cannonball Run movies have been released at least in "Nordic" region.

Only these JC movies from the trailer have not been released yet:

Police Story 3
Battle Creek Brawl
Wheels On Meals
Project A 1&2

I bet that Eureka is planning a Project A box release next.

Just one more thing, could you ask Eureka that what's their situation with Snake In the Eagles Shadow? Tell them that the only release so far by Twilight Time is crap and people have obviously avoided buying it.

Hmm, I'm confused, what "restoration" is the Cannonball Run that Fortune Star is advertising now? And only first movie? Capsaholic already lists US and DE blu-rays, and in addition both CB blu-rays have been released in Nordic region.

The only problem, for some, with such a release, is it would likely have BBFC censorship imposed. Otherwise, it could have been better than Twilight (possibly extras, better subtitles, the US English soundtrack).

What's weird is that FS reel mentions the full Police Story trilogy, but only shows the first film... at least we've finally seen footage from the PS2 restoration, but PS3 is still hiding in the shadows. Ironic, since I saw PS3 (albeit in its US Supercop form) on the big screen back in '96, and is the least desperate for an HD remaster (although the HK version has only been upscaled).

Perhaps that's why Eureka didn't jump on it... hell, part of me is wondering if Sony Japan will attempt a 4K release of SITES and DM for their 40th anniversaries. I feel like only a Japanese company would attempt it

I’m betting on OUATIC series (it should include OUATIC & A), Project A series, probably Wheels On Meals and A Better Tomorrow. They might also do A Chinese Ghost Story but I would wait until parts 2 and 3 get the HD treatment (if they ever do). These are pretty much money in the bank releases.

Black Mask just got an ultimate type German release with the different cuts of the film so I doubt Eureka could top that release.

Yeah, because they didn’t mention that it used a new 2k master. I don’t even think that the release was reported as both Blu-ray and dvd.

I don’t know because that box set they released was pretty definitive. The same masters were used by Eureka and Twilight Time for their release.

True, but an actual UHD/4K release would be epic... a far cry from the VHS days of the late 90s for those two films. Granted, there wouldn't be any English options, but they would look quite pretty After the Twilight Time fiasco here in the US, I certainly wouldn't expect American UHD releases of SITES/DM

On that note, it'll be interesting if Kam and Ronson ever attempts UHD releases for the Fortune Star 4K remasters... with those shoe horned 7.1 remixes...

I still own the Fox DVD.

I think I'm the only person that didn't like that movie... AND... didn't mind the sequel.

Those cuts wouldn't bother me personally (as long as they're carefully handled).

It's a horrible scene.

lets's hope the OUATIC Jet Li films get the treatment next! but yes i could see them doing the Jackie Chan films first (Project A 1 and 2) as it looks like the Police Story box set is already proving to be a winner!
