Its not hard to draw a logical conclusion based on eithet or both of these facts. Certainly more logical than DF issuing the statement for no reason.

It's pretty logical to assume that Dark force wanted to try to change the public perception of the video after he and code red got a bunch of heat over it. Dark force is pretty concerned with his public image and tried to make it look like some wrestling publicity stunt. Scorpion can possibly have the video taken down, but they can't legally force him to claim something real is fake.

DF apologized for it....honestly, not a big deal. He came and posted in the open...it wasn't a coordinated effort or anything like that. Ruined was supporting the label from the first instance and he has been a member here for many years. There's nothing to indicate that Ruined was or is a shill.


Ruined has even received a sort of death threat from Banana Man in the past .

Look, I don't agree with some of the ways he promotes but its his business. The guy is transparent. Everything is about perception...other labels do some shady stuff but nobody notices as some of their employees, associates and "friends" of the label act as "total gentlemen".

Some labels have little groups of "experts" that go around all the home movie forums and all over FB sharing their "expertise", being very careful to promote their product and bash (always tactfully done) competing labels. DF is just one guy promoting his label.

Im not sure you are saying anything different than I am. I simply said he was required to make that statement. A request to take something down that was put up without permission can easily turn into a lawsuit, hence compelling someone to attempt to clean up the mistake such as by issuing a statement to avoid potential legal issues.

I'm looking forward to The Backlot Murders going up for sale this week! Can't wait to see it again after so many years! Pretty sure I rented this on VHS toward the end of my local video store's life. I remember it being insanely fun. I'm hoping that the artwork provided by Dark Force is reversible to have the original as well.

There is no original artwork for Backlot Murders (according to DF) but the new art is pretty sweet
This will be coming out in 2 weeks. Not sure why I thought it was this week.

Hopefully DF will put together a Backlot + Bloody Acre combo package wirh some nice swag. I really liked the magnets and posters they were doing, not so much the stickers.

Believe it or not I actually like and appreciate ruined over that whole Opera thread so I have no ill feelings towards him

however he is wrong , I have never seen the video, and even if I have seen it. I have no way of contacting dark force because I don't have his phone number, I'm not friends with him on Facebook , and have no interest in speaking with him anyway , so it wasn't me. good detective work though, for if I have seen it or even a kino reps, I am sure we would have done something about it. But we didn't see , but have read enough about it after it was removed

Precisely. I’ve heard a lot of casual observers are picking up cult releases from boutique labels these days. Heard that the The Carrier is absolutely gorgeous and the best way to watch the film to date

Apparently Gods Bloody Acre looks exactly how the clip that Dark Force posted this week looks. Flickering colors. No color correction at all. But it's the best it's ever looked in any format!!!

ANDDDDDD I don’t care what tool was used, DNR or DRS, if it’s scrubbed, I’m not buying it. Especially for $28. Wonder if first day sales were in the toilet and that’s when he made the claims he didn’t use DNR and that the tooling didn’t disrupt the grain.
