This Iran game is heartbreaking, it should be 1 -1, they should have just given Iran the goal, since they did score.

Giving goals against the rules because you feel for them?....what madness is this you speak of?

Either way. Pepe is still a fraud in my book. And I really think the refs need to punish diving (Mertens included). Do you agree, or do you see it as part of the game?
I think Pepe has to be my least favourite player in the game. He’s just such a blatant, play-acting cheat. I’ve seen plenty of him on tv down the years, either club or international matches, and he has done that kind of thing so often.
You only have to make the slightest contact with him (or sometimes no contact at all) and he goes down quicker than a lead parachute.
Pathetic.
Plenty of dirty foul play from him down the years too (lots of videos on YouTube).

Morocco and Iran played pretty well today, unlucky not to get anything.

It was within the rules, the ref waved the player back onto the field, just because Senegal played a ball forward and Poland played him onside was just good luck and bad luck respectively.

I’m looking forward to three intriguing games later today.

It was Poland who played the ball back. Senegal didn't have possession of the ball. That's why the ref allowed the player back on.

I couldn’t remember,I was assuming.
Ok then, that’s worse for Poland then,it’s simply their fault.

What a great goal by Eriksen.

Fair 1-1 result against Australia. They continue to impress me!

I have to say though: if Cornelius went down in the box late in the game, I have no doubt VAR would award us a penalty for tugging on the shirt. Once again diving would've paid off and I hate that. Fair play to him for staying on his feet..

France definitely not impressing much so far, but two wins out of two.

I didn't see the Denmark game, but I agree with you with regards to diving - I hate that too. Sadly it happens all too often.

Excellent result for Croatia and deserved winners. No idea what happened to Argentina and certainly never thought they would lose 3-0.

They depend too much on Messi which is their downfall to and have no plan B to break down teams.
What we also saw tonight was a team who didn't even fight to get back into the game and that is a bad sign and they have to make changes for the future.

I agree with you. I didn't see the first half to be fair, only caught it just as the second half began, but after Croatia's first goal I expected a lot more effort from Argentina. As you say, they rely on Messi to do the business but that's not enough.

I bet not even the most hardcore Croatian fans would have predicted such a huge upset. Argentina are practically eliminated, even if they get out of the group it will be their last game. What a disappointment for Messi!
