Default Blu Ray Grunt

I just picked up 300 today in Blu (first one), I could not belive it 300 was only $3 more on Blu and 8 more on HD DVD than the SD DVD. Don't even have a player (PS3) yet should come around the 8th as that is when I get paid I can't wait. The only thing was the clasp to hold the disk in place was broken. Does this happen a lot or not very much please say the latter.

PS3 is the coolest thing I have bought in years. You will love it! Especially if you have a nice tv.

In the many years of buying dvd, then moving to blu ray I've only dealt with probably 3 broken clasps out of hundreds of movies. You will enjoy your ps3 btw

Sometimes it happens. But it is rare. It seems to be a particular problem with Warner, from what I've read. But, that may be simply due to the popularity of their titles.

Fortunately the discs have that nice anti-scratch coating. I've read of numerous HD DVD folk who find scratched discs in that situation.

In the early days of DVD, Warner was famous for their crappy CARDBOARD cases. Yes "cardboard". Thank GOD they are not repeating this with BD. I have the original Dirty Harry DVD boxset in those sh*tty things!

If you're a perfectionist like me, you can buy some really nice Blu-ray clamshells from SleeveTown.com emblazoned with the Blu-ray logo. Very nice indeed.

http://www.sleevetown.com/

You need to scroll way down to nearly the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!

I bought Rocky Balboa the other day and it had the clasp broken. I exchanged it and the exchanged one had the broken clasp as well, and so did another copy we checked. I bought it later that day at a different store and all was OK!!!

Not for me. I get "Colorful Storage Ideas at Sleeve City" and two items:

Budget Polypro Sleeve with Flap (100)
Slappa 80/160 HardBody CD Case Blue

Nothing comes up with "Blu-ray" as a search item either.

Maybe it is exclusive in the US.

Yes!!! These things were awful! New Line had most of their movies in these abominations as well. Not only were they cheap and ugly, but when they're next to a regular keep case, the plastic cover on the keep case always gets stuck on the plastic lip of the cardboard case! They finally stopped releasing these finally, and thank goodness there's standardized (for the most part) BD packaging.

Oh, I have yet to see a problem with any of my BD cases. I thankfully never had much problem with standard DVD either. But the next one I buy will probably be broken now.

I haven't had this happen yet, but I know it will. I bought 10 empty BD cases from a sponsor of this site (at least they had an ad on this site at the time).

Did you buy them? I'm interested in confirmation about the quality and condition. There certainly are a lot of bad cases to be found (jewel, dvd, bd, etc.)

i bought 5 replacement cases from sleevetown for .75 a piece and they've definately come in handy... i need to replace all those ghetto warner/fox titles with the standared embossed cases rather than the stamped ones. those are the real deal... highly recommended.

I purchased a box of 50 blu-ray cases from sleevetown. Here's a link to my take on them. Now all I need to do is find somewhere I can buy the same cases in a multi-disc:

How many do you get for $2.99? 10 or 1? Also, do these have the security latch on them that I cannot stand?
