Don't forget, that the digital copy you get on iTunes also has the complete documentary. It's just the disc version that isn't complete.

I got this from the alternate versions section of the movie listing on IMDB:

"The 2004 DVD version and subsequent releases (such as Blu-ray) in the US are based on an enhanced Imax version prepared a few years earlier but never screened. In addition to some graphical enhancements, the end credits also contain restoration credits (and are sped up to contain them), and after 'A Whole New World' (pop version) is over and the credits are finished, the genie has an extra goodbye line over the ending logo. "

I myself preferred "A Whole New World" to end silently over the closing "Walt Disney Pictures" logo. What was the point of the Genie's extra goodbye line at the end of the credits?

Why doesn't the Diamond Edition come with the silver slip cover anymore? I was looking for it at Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart and none of the stores have it with that anymore. It's only the standard blue casing now. Any ideas?

They just stopped production of them? That's really all it is, pretty much all movies with a slipcover stop being shipped with them after a while.

It came out almost a year ago. After the Black Friday sales with Aladdin last year I stopped seeing it with slipcovers all around.

Walmart.com and Target.com are also unavailable while Amazon (as of right now) receiving stock in a few days at $29.99

I have a feeling Disney is lacking on shipment to these stores.

I saw a copy of Aladdin Diamond Edition at Toys R Us last week.

However, it didn't have a Digital Copy, it just said "BLU-RAY + DVD" on the banner at the top.

Looking online I can't find any Diamond Edition Aladdin releases that didn't come with a Digital Copy.

Any idea what was up with that?

Wow now I wish I had bought the Target Edition. I didn't realize It came with a book when it was released I was too excited about just owning the movie on Blu ray. They are going for $75 + on ebay.

Hey, so My dog ate my copy of Aladdin and because I'm not too impressed with Signature releases lately (and because I had the money) I bought a new one on Ebay. I noticed something weird about the copy.

It didn't come with a digital copy (it was mentioned on the site but I figured the guy already used it). It has a blue 'blu ray and dvd' frame

also on the boarder, the 'disney blu ray' label is weirdly placed and bigger than the usual. (placed next to the Dalmatians blu ray for scale, which came out at the same time)



My question is: Did I buy a bootleg, or is this from another country?

The blu ray works fine and the picture and everything doesn't seem to change, the only difference is that at the very beginning of my playing the disc, it says: can't connect to internet at this time.

Unfortunately, I think that it's a bootleg
Check out the official BD's cover:

1)The "Blu-ray + DVD" border should have had "+Digital HD" as well,
2) The official slipcover has a holographic effect.
But just to be certain, I would suggest that you look the disc art and compare it to the official BD's disc art, which you can find on the internet & check the menu of the disc!
