Got Gods Bloody Acre Blu in. The transfer is a revelation compared to the old Code Red DVD. Frames that were full of dust, hair, and other crap are in radically better shape now.

Color vastly improved and has a nice intact grain structure.

Seems like there was a lot of misinformation in the Facebook group dawnofthediscs was on as this appears the largest jump in quality from DVD to Blu ray to date on all of the Dark Force releases, most of the crud removed without any notable side effects.

Will post A/B pics later as i have both the original code red dvd and the blu.

So here we go, 3 actual A/B comparisons of the same frame, CODE RED DVD vs DARK FORCE BLU, GODS BLOODY ACRE

Difference is pretty major IMO. Color timing is different, Code Red DVD has a bit of green push, low contrast, faded; Dark Force has a bit of teal push, high contrast, not as faded. Tried to capture that as best as possible here but again it is from a phone so colors not perfect. Also note photos were taken from DLP projector so you may see light sequential color banding. The day for night scenes in the DF BLU have a nice bluish tint to them on the DF BLU versus the contrast-sapped greyish-violet on the CR DVD, as well.

However, it is quite easy to see how much better defined the grain is on the DF BLU and how much less print damage there is. While the DF BLU is not free of print damage, it is massively cleaned up while having better grain than the DVD. I tried to capture some of that print damage below to demonstrate how it is cleaned up - sometimes the damage is only a frame or two like the first two pics, other times like the lines in the third photo it lasts for 5-10 seconds on the Code Red DVD. In general, though, there are tons less of these instances of damage in the DF BLU.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comp...5773/picture:0

Overall a solid effort from DARK FORCE, from obviously a beat to hell theatrical print that they were able to clean up without damaging the fidelity of the picture, while also providing a higher contrast picture and more defined film grain. Biggest improvement to date from CR DVD > DF BLU.

Too bad stupid blu ray drm wont allow that.

But those are pretty detailed pics, the improvement very evident. Probably gonna have a long wait for 1:1 sscreengrabs comparing the dvd and blu.

It is so stupid and annoying, I understand they want to discourage or eliminate pirating however it doesn't make sense for owners of a disc to have to pay for programs to remove drm just to be able to watch a movie they own on their computer.

I'm curious which program you are using if any to remove drm, anydvd?

Try Leawo, its a free bluray player software that is capable of taking screenshots. Its what I use for when I tried my hand at writing reviews. Also, it will let you switch regions.

Be careful with Leawo. I've seen lots of versions loaded with nasty malware out there.

DF trying to unload defective copies of The Carrier for $17.99...there goes Ruined’s theory . Wait...once Diabolik and DF sellout, The Carrier will sell for hundreds . Just forget that Bill has hundreds of copies waiting to be sold to any and all takers.

Waiting for a rebuttal from Ruined. What gives here?

Cut Throats Nine and Messiah of Evil on Dark Force at a pretty reasonable price w/ free shipping. Any one waiting to pick those titles up should grab them now. Bill sells them at a higher price and charges $5 shipping.

DF is selling The House that Vanished/The Eeire Midnight Horror Show once again. Good price of $21.95
[Show spoiler]The goes another silly theory RUINED . Honestly, RUINED is a good guy but he should voluntarily take a week off from posting and formulate some new theories about how The Carrier and THTV are becoming very valuable “collector’s”items .

The upcoming release of Enter the Devil is a different film by the same name, directed by Frank Q. Dobbs.

Its available directly from their website for free, no need to get it from any sketchy places.

True but their website looks exactly like every other malware infested "free software" website out there so it's easy to be misdirected. The software is half way decent for bluray playback on PC, it has some issues but I've used it in the past and it's honestly better than the last PowerDVD version I tried last year.
