What if house pets pooped gold? I think gold would be worthless at that point.

I keep hearing that but the current Blu is out of print and the title seems perfect for a re-release. Even if all the controversy has to be avoided, there is still more that could be done for the film in regards to its presentation and special features compared to the current Blu Ray. Of course it would be a shame if gag orders prevent full exploration of the behind the scenes stories and facts but I still feel like it's a title that would do fairly well, even in a gimped form.

If Scream released The Twilight Zone (and I don't think they will), without opening a can of worms I'd be stunned (and more besides) if John Landis was involved in any new extras.

On the I Was There Too podcast, Jeffrey Weissman (George McFly in the Back to the Future sequels) said how the mood of the set for George Miller's segment was somber. Everyone felt the whole production should be scrapped out of good taste/respect to Murrow and the children. But they were all legally-bound to finish it.

And John Larroquette (who had a brief turn in Landis' segment) was visibly holding back anger on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show when that topic came up. It's never not going to be a touchy subject.

Landis recently agreed to do an interview--not a commentary--for Kino's release of Oscar. But I doubt he'd give anything for Twilight Zone, which is a shame. Great flick, marred by tragedy.

I thought we agreed you were going to put all your 2K, 4K, and want lists stuff/posts as part of your signature? Look at mine, feel free to copy the format. You can put whether you'd like a 2K or 4K restoration next to each title.

And he recorded a new interview for Shout Select's release of Into the Night. So he generally seems very willing to sit down and talk about films that he's done. But Twilight Zone would be the exception, I think.

Short of a fullblown 4K scan/remaster, Pet Sematary is pretty well-covered.

There are affordable, region free imports for The Dead Zone and Silver Bullet, but the transfers do leave a bit to be desired in both cases.

I'm pretty sure the 2019 remake will take care of that

Guess there's not much for me in the Paramount library. With the exception of My Bloody Valentine (with the cut scenes restored and properly reinserted) and April Fool's Day I'm good.

John Landis wont even sign twilight zone the movie stuff at conventions, I doubt he would be involved with anything new.

For a Twilight Zone CE there would be new remastering and extras like a commentary by a Twilight Zone historian plus Joe Dante as well even interviews with the cast and Joe Dante and George Miller with Frank Marshall, deleted scenes, horror's hollowed grounds, trailers & TV spots and the whole shabang.

I would upgrade my old DVD to get this.

Cut out any interviews/commentary from the cast and crew replace that with a documentary that uses the stories found online and in print from previous interviews and/or videos from the past 30 years all narrated by Joe Bob Briggs, Kim Newman, or Stephen thrower. Add in a remastered presentation, original and remixed audio options and the usual deleted scenes (if any), trailers, tv spots etc. and the release is very much doable. Just because the cast and crew wouldn't be involved doesn't mean a very fine release couldn't be prepared.

Pet Sematary has a great Blu-ray presentation. I've still got the copy with the lenticular slipcover. Wondering what they can do with the remake. The original is so faithful to the book, it makes it difficult to do something with a remake without giving us a film we’ve all seen before. Hopefully they can take it in a different direction and offer some new surprises. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Mary Lambert edition show up around the time of the new one with new, cheap artwork, but that's probably all that will be new about it, if they can be persuaded to even do that much. Unless Scream Factory gets it, of course. But those are pipe dreams at the moment.

These are titles from Paramount that I don't think other labels will put out that would be nice from one of the Shout lines:

Sleepy Hollow
Escape From L.A.
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Some Kind of Wonderful
Dragonslayer
Pretty In Pink
Young Sherlock Holmes
Top Secret!

That Was Then...This Is Now
The Elephant Man
The Serpent's Egg
The Bad News Bears

If there was ever a title that belonged on the Shout Select line it's Pretty in Pink. It's not on your list, but Hot Shots/Hot Shots Deux seem like no brainers as well.

I think Kino might do Dragonslayer or Young Sherlock Holmes since they now have a paramount deal.
