Been doing the same thing lately. Still had a ton of DVDs for movies I now have on Blu-ray, so those were easy to get rid of. But the hard part is going through stuff I haven't watched in years and deciding if I really want to keep it or just get rid of it. At least I've got a place nearby where I can sell it all. In the last few weeks I've taken a few boxes of movies there to unload and have gotten just a little over $200 for them all. Not bad.

Oh yeah, I'm doing the same thing. The fiancé and I are re-doing our organization scheme, and we just have SO much stuff (not including movies) that things have just started to pile up. I have boxes upon boxes of books from when I was in elementary and middle school still. It's just time to finally declutter, sell or donate, and get things looking proper.

The extra cash will be a nice little boost, and whatever's not bought will be going right to goodwill.

I wish I had all my dvds to sort through. I had some gems that I’ll never have again.
Heads up to folks here who may be moving: don’t let the packers label boxes with your movies as “movies” or “dvds” and then leave them out on an open floor in a warehouse. Label them books or something else.

well, i'd never let anyone else pack up my stuff, load my stuff, or move my stuff. it's my shit, and only me or a family member is allowed to touch my shit.

They've lost stolen you Bluray/DVD collection!?!?!?
Oh man, I think that would break me, I'd never be able to restart collecting all the shit I have.
And some things, in my Anime Collection that I have are "out of print" and the cost would be to prohibitive to replace.

And I do not have time, inclination or income these days to be able to even try to replace what I've collected over the
past 15-ish yrs ( anime ), even longer with live action

Please, family aren't allowed to touch my movies without permission. Had too many titles jacked over the years by family. Which is weird because nobody in my family besides me and my eldest sister and my brother know how to properly work BDs.

I've learned this lesson, never loan my daughter anything, I'll never get it back ( sad but true )

I buy live action but mostly Animated movies for the grandkids to watch ( and my self ) when they come over.
And my daughter would borrow Titles and I'd never see them again, I pressed the issuse once when I was at their house
and found the DVD of the movie to be too messed up to ever play again.

So now a days I just buy the moives and have them sent straight to them.

I do still buy them for myself as well, for when the grandkids come over....

Took the day off work since I have to work this weekend. My fiancee just told me we're hosting her little brother's graduation/going away party in a couple weeks. He's shipping out to Lackland AF base at the end of July for basic so she's looking to have the party as early as 7-8 July, and of course I have to work that weekend so who knows how its going down.

So.... I'm currently drinking some coffee and helping her with the party planning. She posted a big announcement on Facebook and sent out 450 invites. Looks like she's gonna have a local BBQ place cater the event, almost $600 to roast a f**king pig! Granted that includes side dishes and plates/plasticware but really, I could make a Sam's Club run and get a few cases of burgers and hot dogs for a fraction of that. Oh and a pavilion at the park she reserved... another $300! Ridiculous..
