I missed this series when it originally aired so I'm trying to decide if I should blind-buy. By the way, "special effects" on a tv budget don't bother me. I find most older stuff (50s, 60s, 70s) "charming" and not annoying. On the other hand, crappy CGI is much more "annoying", in my opinion, but I never get tired of monsters in rubber suits.
