Well, we can pretty much bank on Demolition Man getting a CE Blu-ray at Comic Con.

I'm good with titles like that one.... early no frills WB releases with outdated encodes... it would seem realistic to expect a better looking release with the added bonus of extras...

Then again, to be fair, I have been imagining and building up in my own head this impossible wish list that is likely just that.

When they say 'mind blowing' and 'jaw dropping', right away I start imagining "The Devils", "The Haunting of Julia", "Dawn of the Dead" '78, "Martin", "Alligator", "Cruising", "Year of the Dragon", "The Hand", "Forced Vengeance", "Iceman", "Tank", "Blue Collar", "The Border", "Crossroads" (1986).... and it goes on and on and on....

And then what I actually get is "The Man in the Iron Mask" and "House on Haunted Hill" ('99), and the wind left my sails.....
Yes, they're holding it back. They've only released "minor" films here and there, just enough to keep interest high. They have bragged greatly about big, fan-favorite titles going as far into February. It's safe to assume they're holding the big stuff for October and Comic Con. Next week, I would think, will be some major reveals.

Now this should give a hint to Shout Factory/Scream Factory for an ideal fall or winter release for a CE of this awesome sci-fi action comedy classic with extras abound even retrospective documentary, a second new commentary, deleted scenes, a possible director's cut with theatrical cut and more.

Personally, these are the kinds of titles I crave the most (can't wait for The Evil) but I'm actually excited for House On Haunted Hill. I remember enjoying the film when I went to see it. Movies today are mostly crap but stuff like "House of Wax" (remake), Ghost Ship and Thirteen Ghosts (remake) are a lot of fun and since they're studio films the production values are better.

Not sure if "The Devils", "Year of the Dragon", "Tank" or "Blue Collar" would make jaws drop, though. A jaw-dropping title announcement would be something like An Elm Street box set, Dawn of the Dead '78, or anything franchise-y and generally more popular. But, hey, it's all subjective anyway
I've been coming down hard on the old Scream Factory these days, because I want them to utilize these Warner and Sony deals properly, but in all honesty, if we got nothing else this year, I'd be happy just having Brainscan alone. That's been my number one wishlist Blu-ray for years and years, and I was starting to think it would never get a release. I asked Scream Factory for Brainscan years ago, and there response was "sorry; it's owned by Sony." It's not a great film, but I have such fond memories of it. It's representative of its time, and of 90s horror films, in just about every aspect of its production. Very excited for it. My only complaint would be that it's not in a CE, but with Furlong in prison (of wherever he is) and Flynn passed away, I can't imagine there's a whole lot to go with. I fully expect a Critters boxset very soon, but Brainscan is my jam in a big way.

I think it's more likely that Warner Bros. announces a UHD 25th Anniversary Edition over a Scream Factory Collector's Edition, personally.

My favorite Nightmare films already look great in the New Line set and I don't care much about the bad sequels, I just own them because they're part of the set.

Something like Martin or The Hitcher is what I'd consider jaw dropping. To each their own.
I'm with you. The Italian 4K set of Dawn has all the cuts, and the Argento cut in 4K. Can't get much better than that. A new NoES set would be nice, but it's not necessary, unless they can give us DCs of the films that have them, which won't be easy to get. Critters will be a great announcement; it will be the worldwide debut on Blu-ray, and Critters is about as "Scream Factory" brand as you can get. As far as everything else, I'm sure there will be a few surprises, but expect a lot of double dips, especially from TT titles.

It appears so. Hopefully they can get new interviews/commentaries with Sly and Snipes.

Yeah, I don't foresee WB and Taco Bell doing all of that marketing for a title that's been licensed out.

Then that would be a disappointment, a CE would have more bling for me.

I've been having a Final Destination marathon today. I wonder if they might upgrade some of those films? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd rather them focus on movies that don't have Blu-ray releases, but I wouldn't turn down a nice box set with some fun special features

Yes, "Hell Night" was one of those elusive titles that I got excited about. I got excited about "Scream for Help" and "Brain Dead", too.

"It's Alive" set excited because those films got the royal treatment AND it revealed the new WB deal.

"Of Unknown Origin" was nice, too.

I am happy when titles like "A Breed Apart" and "Survive!" show up, too.

I just tire of newer, mid-grade, mainstream films that are already on blu ray coming back out again like it's a big deal. That "Iron Mask" announcement threw me into a hissy, LOL. After all that build-up.

Other things in recent times that would make me go, "Oh wow! Never thought I'd see that!" would be like Synapse doing gorgeous restorations of "Curtains" and "Prom Night", Severin doing "The Changeling", or Vinegar Syndrome doing "Liquid Sky", and things like that, just to give you some examples.

88 Films doing "Alice, Sweet Alice".

Stuff like that.

It should be noted, and it likely matters, that I am probably/ maybe a bit older than a lot of posters here, so maybe that has something to do with it.

"Too Scared to Scream", "The Haunting of Julia", stuff like that, is what I'd want.

Also would be excited for a new release of Dawn. Currently have the single disc Australian release. Not much upgrade on the picture, alas tho it was the only one within price range.

Bad Ronald was a surprise I ran across online a few years ago. It's really fun. I don't expect a blu ray release though
