Still one of my favourite shows ever. You won't be disappointed. It's real solid.

Has anyone here pre-ordered any of the 4K Mission Impossible films from Amazon? I could have sworn when I ordered them the listing indicated it was a UHD, but now I'm not so sure I wasn't just going by the price and release date. Can anyone here confirm this one will be the 4K disc?

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07CF6WS5C

I assume since the 5-film blu ray pack is only a few dollars more, that this one must be the 4K version...

I was wondering the same thing, terrible advertising on Amazon part, especially when Amazon.com has them perfectly set up. I did notice tho, that BestBuy.ca has all 5 films in 4K up on there site, however they are $29.99......maybe a price match-up option?

The Killing of a Sacred Deer - $8.99

The Girl on the Train - $5.99

Ichi the Killer - $11.99

I've only seen Girl on the Train out of these three (and can't personally recommend it), but the prices are pretty damn good. Killing of a Sacred Deer is on Netflix, for what it's worth

Did Black Lightning Season 1 not get released here in Canada? I can't even find it on Amazon.ca.

Deep Rising pre-order is $20. Not bad for a new Kino release.

The 2001: A Space Odyssey remastered blu-ray is up for pre-order for $13.99. Not too bad of a price.

If historical pricing of Warner Bros films is any indication, you'll find it going for $19.99 most likely after Christmas.

Also, I saw the blu-ray in a fairly well equipped theatre when it was released a few years back and it was a sight to behold even in 1080p. I can't begin to imagine how much better it will look with HDR and newly scanned 70mm prints.

Never seen this movie before, so I will take your advice and wait for a Black Friday sale thanks!

I won't deny the movie its cultural significance but it is well down the list for Kubrick movies for me. I've watched it a couple of times (On HD-DVD) and it is just a tough one for me to get through. I'd rather watch The Shining, Full Metal Jacket or Clockwork Orange personally... heck I'd rather watch Eyes Wide Shut again.

The press release and description seems to indicate that the blu-ray version will not include the bonus disc though.

Yeah, I kinda got that sense too. But I really can't see Warner not including the extra disc on the regular blu-ray release as well. I can't see them cheaping out like that. Either way, not a huge deal breaker for me though as I have the original release with all those special features anyway. I am a little surprised that Warner didn't do a new retrospective for the film though.

I hope the blu-ray release will include the extras disc as I held off on owning this title because I heard the transfer of the 2008 release wasn't that great, at least by today's standards of 4K remasters, which is interesting since the review here gave it a 4.9 out of 5, but it was still the early days of blu-ray back then

I think I'm going to wait and see what the reviews are like for this release before deciding.

Ichi the Killer is down to $11.99:

https://www.amazon.ca/Ichi-Killer-Bl.../dp/B0788WXTJX

Actually, it seems a lot of the Well Go USA titles are $11.99 on Amazon.ca if you are into those movies.

Memoirs of an Invisible Man is $22.99 (which seems to be the US Price, but in CAD):

Just received my copy of The Sopranos from Amazon and the box was busted and 5 of the 7 Blu-Ray cases inside the box were also busted at the same exact place (probably dropped)... I contacted Amazon, explained the situation and they simply told me to keep the Box Set and a new one will be sent... did this ever happen to anyone else? I had to re-contact Customer Service just to be 100% sure that this was accurate.

Almost all bluray sets I have gotten for cheap from amz.ca have arrived wih some form of damage. Only the most serious of damages, like the ones you mention I have returned.

Kinda stinks as this makes me wonder if the discount has any relation to the relative time these sets have in the warehouse and no doubt shuffled about a hundred times in amazon bins.

However, my DVD sets have come mostly in tip top shape.

^ Some of those old HBO DVD box sets were built like tanks, some of their early BD box sets even moreso. You dropped one of those, somebody would get hurt! With that kind of packaging, it was very unlikely the important part, the discs, would be damaged. They suck the shelf space though.
