Yes. Broadgreen released Song To Song, even Shout has released 4K IMAX films.

I own the Universal release for Halloween III so I'm definitely in for this new steelbook.

I will be quadruple dipping for Halloween II, and triple dipping for Halloween III, because I love these movies and get obsessive about transfers!

I really wish they were just releasing actual 4K Blu Rays...and when they happen, I'll get them too....

It is. For an 18 year old DVD era master it does look pretty good, but there's a lot of room for improvement.

Nice, but what about the rest of them? Weren't the 2 and 3 masters "passable", I held off on the box set because some of the transfers for the lesser sequels were "less than passable". I'm not likely to just buy standalone 4K remasters of 2 and 3. I'd buy the box if everything was from a 4K scan.

I guess Universal will probably do the original themselves?

Universal has nothing to do with the first film. it's with Anchor bay/Lionsgate.

Woot. I'm glad I never bought Halloween III. I'll definitely be picking that up. I already have Scream's Halloween II so I don't know if I'm gonna double dip.

Great news but was really hoping for actual 4K UHD Blu-ray releases.
Maybe Universal will since they're distributing the new Halloween.

Aside from muh-4k UHD, the only other thing that would make HIII sweeter is if it were the uncut version. I'm getting this steel, but I'm also holding onto my German blu. It looks a little bit worse than the Universal release, BUT it is uncut.

I really liked Halloween 3 for what it is, I own it twice already. But I can't resist this one. I'll be picking these up later on for sure.
The 4k uhd I can totally see coming soon. A lot of stuff is kind of already being prepped for 4k. However I will not be replacing blu rays of my collection. The only thing I will upgrade or replace will be the mainstream titles and I'll wait a good while when they dip down to 10 bucks or so.

If Scream gets the rights to do new versions of 4 and 5, I'll be elated.

The only thing I never needed to get was the box set. I have nothing but individual releases. The only things I really needed when the mega box came out were the Producer's Cut of 6, which came out separately, and a Blu version of the TV cut of 1 that I never watch. DVD is fine. (Scenes are on the 35th blu anyway.) I don't mind collecting everything in separate cases. I've got a whole shelf of Halloween.

Will buy if the PQ is a huge upgrade. If it's something that's only marginally better like Ninja 3, then I'll pass. Halloween 2 already looks pretty damn good, but III definitely has room for improvement.

That Steel art is butt ugly though. If I do get them I'll be putting the new discs in the old black cases with the original poster art from the LE boxset.

I want the new remastered Halloween II in the black case from the box set with the original poster art. I'll take that lithograph though.

Question

What disc art does SF use in their Steels? Does it match the case? I would hope for original poster art, so these can be swapped into the Complete Collection box set, and match.

Oh well, I may have to quintuple(?)-dip anyway. (I've owned these films on every major format since VHS, sometimes more than once, so why stop now?)

Wait, the Universal release of Halloween III is cut? And the German one isn't? What's cut? What about the previous Shout release?

Nothing is cut. The German theatrical cut had some gore trimmed out, but their “uncut” version is the standard theatrical version

If you use Paypal or debit, yes. If you use Amazon Pay or a regular credit card, they charge when it ships.

Hoping 1, 4, and 6 get the treatment as well.
It'd be nice to see a part 6 set with all 5 cuts, they can seamlessly branch the theatrical-t.v.-and director's cuts on one disk, disk 2 for producer's cut and workprint since the latter will likely only see a standard def source).

Outside of the original six I don't care so much, much like Friday the 13th's after Jason Goes to Hell of Texas Chain Saw Massacre entries after III. While some of these entries may have gone off the rails, they still feel like part of the series' in tone.

Both RZH movies look about as good as they will in 1080p (not my cup of tea, look visually good though).
H:20 needs a new master big time (not my cup of tea either) the same with pretty much every Dimension films release from the 90's to early 2000's (Scream movies, The Prophecy, etc.).
I think Resurrection was probably the first entry to use a DI, it could look better but it's not as old feeling as the other masters, plus it's the least liked series entry by many so no one is really clamoring for it (also not my cup of tea).
