You're talking like you think he was frothing at the mouth with rage when he wrote that post. I got the impression he was just calmly disagreeing with you.

I understand where you're coming from, we're paying more for UHD than we're used to doing with BD so I get not being 100% happy about that. Personally I'm okay with it though, if that's what it takes to be able to have this format to begin with.

Exactly that, sir.

I've seen a few posts recently railing against 4K as some conspiracy to make us buy everything again and I think to myself "how young are these people that they've only just realised this?". I've bought certain beloved movies many times across 7 or 8 different formats over the last 25 years, the studios will never tire of selling us the same thing over and over but as long as there's an actual improvement in the presentation of the content then I'll keep on buying them. And, like our mr tasker, I usually start off at the ground floor and buy as many of x new format as I can (over 200 UHDs and counting) so I'm also doing my part. It's just nothing new under the sun is all.

If people haven't quite jumped to 4k and are future proofing then apparently the accompanying blu ray is the remastered version
